Principal's Message
At Oakwood Elementary School, we are Respectful 🤝, Responsible 👍, and Safe 👷
This week, I wanted to highlight one of our practices that we use to help keep our Oakwood campus SAFE 👷
- Adults who are picking students up at the office MUST present a valid photo ID and be listed on a student's emergency contact list.
Why is this so important?
- The school is only authorized to release students when these conditions are met. We want to be sure that students are going home safely with someone who is authorized to pick them up!
What can you do to help?
- When coming on campus to pick up a student, bring your photo ID
- Be sure to keep your emergency contact list up to date; this is who can pick up your student
- If you need to have someone pick up who is not on the emergency contact list, call the school office to notify us and have the person bring their photo ID to verify their identity to us
What about being on campus?
- If you are going to go past the front office, be sure to bring your photo ID and check in with the front desk before your stay on campus.
Thank you for modelling for our students what it means to be RESPECTFUL 🤝, RESPONSIBLE 👍, and SAFE 👷. Together, we can partner to help to develop our students to be successful citizens in the world.
☕👪 The Parent Café continues on Monday, September 9th @ 8:30am in Room 15
- Parents may attend FOR FREE
- Classes for developing parent leadership skills and support at home
- Please be sure to check in with the office and have a valid photo ID
👨🏻🎓👩🏻🎓 Parent Teacher Conference Week is coming up!
- Conference will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24th-Friday, Sept. 27th
- All adult attending parent-teacher conferences will need to bring an ID and check in at the office before attending the conference.
- Teachers should be reaching out soon for scheduling conference if they have not already.
We are looking forward to meeting with our Oakwood families to share student progress from the quarter 1!
Attention Oakwood Families! We need your help!
Many students are being dropped off at the east gate 15-20 minutes before gates open at 7:30. Students are not allowed on campus until 7:30. Please help us keep our students safe by not sending them to school and/or dropping them off before this time. Staff are not available for supervision until 7:30. We thank you advance for your understanding.

Communication with the School
If you have needs or support related to what's going on in the classroom, the teacher is always your first point of contact! They should be communicating with you early and often throughout the year.
If you have needs or support related to the school, you are always encouraged to reach out to the office, Mr. Hoffman, or myself. We want to you to know that our door is open, and it is so important to us that we partner with you at home
Only a Few More Weeks to Confirm Your Data! See below!
We are excited to announce that this year, families are able to verify their child's elementary school teacher and secondary school class schedule through our online data confirmation process. As of July 19, 2024, parents who have completed the online data confirmation will be able to access this information. We encourage all parents to complete the online data confirmation process by following the instructions in the flyer below.
This important step will allow you to update your child's emergency contact info while also helping to support our school site with additional funding!
