The tracking log will be handed out this week to your students.
At the end of the month, students with 80 or more checks will earn a T-shirt (that we will use to tie dye for field day)! Families—complete a family log for additional 5210+ family fun.
Submissions will be done online by March 5 so stay tuned for reminders.

Attendance
Strive for 5 & Attendance Champions!
This year Namaqua is proud continue our Strive for 5 Attendance Initiative!
Our goal is to have each student miss no more than 5 days of school for the school year!
Namaqua will also be kicking off an Attendance Champion campaign. Our Wildcats will be tracking "Pawsitive" Attendance in each classroom, grade level, and school wide. We have alot of fun planned with incentives, dance parties, and celebrations throughout the year.
As always if you are in need of any support or have questions regarding attendance, please reach out!
A significant part of a student's educational experience is derived from classroom participation, activities, discussions, and relationships. Daily attendance is required for the student to attain the maximum benefits from the educational process.
We understand circumstances arise due to illness or other factors.
Please make sure you are communicating all absences to the office. The front office will be making daily attendance calls for any absences not reported.
Absences may be reported on the attendance line or through the absence request feature in parent portal.
Attendance Line 970-613-6690
Absence Request Feature-Parent Portal
Parents and guardians can now use the Absence Request tool to submit a request that informs the office in advance when their student is not going to be in school.
Absence Requests are NOT final until fully reviewed & processed by a staff member.
Absence requests made through parent portal are for current day or future dates and can not be backdated.

PTA
Dear Wildcats,
A big thank you to the families that joined us at KidsPak. We were able to pack 1000 bags for local students and participated in a video for KidsPak to be featured on Channel9 News.
Our next general association PTA meeting will be Tuesday, February 11th at 3:30 in the PD room. Kids will create Valentine's for staff members while we discuss Carnival and the open Treasurer position for next year.
Speaking of Carnival, this year it will be held on Friday, February 28th from 5-7 PM inside Namaqua.
Our volunteer coordinator Myriah has been hard at work finding high schoolers to man the activities so that parents can focus on having fun with their kids. Volunteers will receive popcorn, cotton candy and volunteer hours. Please pass the link on to any high schoolers that might be interested.

Please see the link below for more information.
Early Childhood 25/26
Are you interested in your child being ready for kindergarten? The Thompson School District's Integrated Early Childhood Program provides quality preschool experiences for three and four year olds at 15 different sites around the Loveland and Berthoud area.
If your child will be 3 or 4 years old by October 1, 2025, your child may be eligible to participate in the Thompson School District's Early Childhood Program. We ask all interested families to complete our Preschool Interest Form available on our preschool website. If you have any questions about our program, please call 970-613-5052.
Nutrition Services
For the 2024/25 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to no-cost meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program.
Research shows students perform better at school when they are not hungry. By providing access to breakfast and lunch for all students at no cost, we better support their learning.
Although all students will receive access to no-cost meals, it's still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other nutritional programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, class materials, utilities support, and more. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support.
Our school meals follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. You can be confident your children are getting quality school meals while saving your family time and money.
