BOOTH HILL SCHOOL

Principal's Message
👋 Dear Booth Hill Families,
As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of open communication between school and families. We believe that a strong partnership with parents is essential for creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our students.
We understand that you may have questions, concerns, or ideas that you would like to share. Whether it's about your child's progress, school events, or any other topic, please know that my door is always open. You can reach out to me directly via email at kchase@trumbullps.org or by phone at 203.452.4377. I welcome your thoughts and am here to listen.
It is a priority of ours to ensure a welcoming atmosphere where students, staff, and families feel comfortable expressing their thoughts. Together, we can ensure that every child feels supported and valued.
Warm regards,
Kevin Chase

It’s the most wonderful time of year in our Learning Commons! Throughout December, students engage in exciting coding activities - from hopscotch coding with our youngest learners to remixing songs and using AI to create beats in the upper grades. For students in Grades 2-5, be sure to check out the coding activities in the Learning Commons Google Classroom over winter break.Code.org also has many opportunities for all learners!

Reminders
Smart Watches and Cell Phones
As many of you begin your shopping for the holiday season, please be reminded, Smart Watches and cell phones are not allowed in our elementary schools. Our technology policy requires that staff members fully monitor these devices and this is not feasible or appropriate at this age level. Further, we kindly request you have continued conversations with your child about the appropriate use of technology and social media safety. Thank you in advance for your support!
Warm Clothing for Outdoor Recess
Please be sure your child comes to school each day with a warm jacket or coat, hat, and gloves. We do try to get our students outside even in the cold weather so it is important that they are dressed properly so they can keep warm. Please remember to label all items so they can be returned if lost.
Bad Dad Jokes!
I love a good dad joke! Now you get to hear them too!
They're not tall enough to be pilots!
School Attendance
As a school community, we continually strive to promote regular attendance at Booth Hill. We welcome and appreciate open communication between school and home; therefore, please reach out if you need assistance with getting your child to school each day and in a timely fashion. Parent and school partnerships enable us to best support our students to ensure success at school.
"Chronically absent is defined as "a child who accumulated a total number of absences at any time during the school year that is equal to or greater than ten percent (10%) of the total number of days that such student has been enrolled at the school during the school year."
Please refer to board policy 5113.1 on our website for more information. https://www.trumbullps.org/board-of-education/policy
As always, thank you for your support.
