FROM THE PRINCIPALS
Greetings CMIT-South Families,
Weβve had another fantastic week of teaching and learning here at CMIT-South Middle and High School! With the cooler fall weather upon us, students should be sure to dress accordingly. Students may wear their CMIT-South uniform sweaters and jackets in the building, but non-uniform outerwear must be stored in lockers until the end of the school day. Let's ensure everyone is comfortable and in uniform as we continue this great school year.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for the Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Tuesday evening! It was an incredible evening filled with delicious food, lively music, dancing, crafts, and thoughtful presentations from our scholars. A special shout-out goes to our Creative Arts Department for organizing such a wonderful event!!
Thank you also to those who attended Thursday nightβs PTO Meetingβboth in person and virtually. We appreciated the valuable presentations from Ms. Jones, our Testing Coordinator, and Ms. Payton, our Youth Career Counselor. CMIT-South families' continued involvement makes a big difference in the success of our school community.
As we look ahead, we want to remind everyone that the end of the first quarter is quickly approaching on October 31st. Families and scholars, please continue to monitor academic progress in Synergy. If there are any questions about grades or assignments, donβt hesitate to reach out directly to the teachers. Students who need to make up assignments due to excused absences should remember to complete make-up work by the communicated deadline. Thank you for your continued support, and letβs finish this first quarter strong!

Saturday Academy Starts October 12th
Greetings CMIT South Family,
We can't wait to kick off Saturday Academy on October 12, 2024, and we're thrilled that you are interested in our program! You have the option to pick from two sessions: 9:00 am-10:30 am and 10:40 am -12:30 pm, or you can join us for both sessions. Your scholars will be dropped off and picked up at the usual spot. Look for the banner outside the door that we'll use every Saturday β it's the only entrance for students. I'll be there to welcome your scholars, sign them in, and guide them to where they need to be. See you there!
What do I need from you and your scholar?
I need your scholar to know what he/she needs assistance with. Upon entering the first questions I will ask them are. What grade are you in and what do you need help with today? Are you staying for both sessions?
Parents/guardians, it's important to ensure that your scholar has a snack if they plan to stay for both sessions, as it's a long time without something to eat. While I will make an effort to provide a snack each Saturday, it may not always be what they prefer.
Respect for our time together is crucial. While we are committed to providing a service, we also have families to attend to on the weekends. Please ensure that you pick up your child on time.
Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me gjones@cmitsouth.org. I look forward to seeing you on Saturdays.
Sincerely,
Ms. Jones
