I will model integrity by being trustworthy.
I will make smart decisions.
I will have empathy by showing kindness.
Hello Patterson Families,
Because of the two snow days in January, the 101st day of school will now be celebrated on February 4th. This Tuesday, we invite our students to dress up as a character from 101 Dalmatians to mark the occasion! We can’t wait to see all our adorable spotted puppies as we celebrate 101 days of learning and growing!
This week, we recognize and celebrate our amazing school counselors during National School Counseling Week! Our counselors play a vital role in supporting students’ academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth. They are dedicated advocates who help create a safe and supportive environment for all. Please join us in thanking our counselors for the incredible work they do to help our students thrive!
We want to remind everyone that consistent attendance is crucial to your child’s success. If your child is feeling well, please make every effort to send them to school. Every day counts! As we begin the new semester, we want to inform you of an important update to our attendance policy regarding absences. Starting this semester, a parents' note will be only be accepted within one week of the student's return to school.
Thank you for being a valued part of our school community.
Thank you for your continued support, engagement, and dedication to making Patterson a place where every child thrives.
Pumas have PRIDE!

From Nurse Cobler:
Flu season is upon us and we are seeing a rise in positive flu cases in our community. Please review the information below to help us keep our students and staff healthy.
When your child is ill, please contact the school to let them know he or she won’t be attending that day. It is important to remember that schools must exclude students with certain illnesses for periods of time as identified in state rules. For example, if your child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she must stay out of school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
In addition, students with diarrheal illnesses must stay home until he/she is diarrhea free without diarrhea-suppressing medications for at least 24 hours. Illness at school is evaluated by the health service staff in the clinic area. A full list of conditions for which the school must exclude children can be obtained from the school nurse.
We greatly appreciate your help and partnership!

New Absence Reporting App
In an effort to make things easier for our families, CISD is launching an app to help you report your students absences to our school when they are out. Documentation such as doctor's notes will still need to be submitted to our campus' attendance office (Mrs. Betancourt), but we are excited about the convenience of this new app. You will access it through the Parent Portal. The directions are below.
As we begin the new semester, we want to inform you of an important update to our attendance policy regarding excused absences.
Starting this semester, an absence will only be considered “excused” under the following conditions:
- Doctor’s Note: A doctor’s note is provided upon the student’s return to school.
- Parent’s Note: A written note from the parent/guardian is submitted within one week of the student’s return to school, explaining the illness or reason for the absence.
This policy ensures that absences are properly documented and that we maintain clear communication regarding your child’s attendance.
Please note that absences without a doctor’s note or a parent’s written explanation within the specified timeframe will be marked as unexcused.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to support your child’s success. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
