Updated Tardy Process
At ERHS, we are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. A key part of this is fostering habits of responsibility, including arriving to class on time, which is essential for academic success and personal growth.
To better support our students in building this important life skill, we will implement a revised tardy process starting in the second semester. Our aim is to encourage timeliness and accountability in a way that helps students make the most of their educational opportunities.
How the Revised Tardy Process Works:
Definition of Tardy: A student is considered tardy if they are not in their assigned classroom when the bell rings.
Tracking: Teachers will track tardies, and parents will receive an automated notification whenever a student is marked tardy.
Encouraging Accountability: After three tardies in any class, the student will have an opportunity to reflect and reset during a 30-minute before- or after-school session designed to reinforce the importance of punctuality.
Scheduling: Teachers will work with students to find a convenient time within the following week for this session.
Available Times: These sessions will be held on:
Tuesdays: 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM
Wednesdays: 7:15 AM – 7:45 AM
Thursdays: 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM
Communication: Families and students will receive an email notification if a session is schedule.,
We believe this revised process will support students in developing skills that will serve them well both in school and beyond. We encourage families to join us in emphasizing the importance of punctuality and to reach out if additional support is needed.
If you have any questions about this policy or would like to discuss ways we can work together to support your student’s attendance, please don’t hesitate to contact ERHS.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in building a strong, supportive school community.
