In Case you Missed It...
- The barcode order for 24-25 has been placed with TLC. Because this is our first time using TLC and our order was for over 92,000 barcodes, it may take a little time for them to get the order to us. As soon as we have barcodes, we will send them out to those who ordered. Thanks for your patience!
- Many thanks to Annemarie Dumar who shared a spreadsheet with librarians on Tuesday with the goal of crowdsourcing author visit information. Please check it out and add to it here.
- Please be sure to register for the General Membership meeting to be held at the WSWHE BOCES Conference Center on November 19th. Register no later than November 5th so we can have an accurate count for lunch. We will be rolling out our new Union Catalog and the new ILL process, networking, learning about AI, and using Inquiry in the PBL process.
All librarians are strongly encouraged to attend. - If you were unable to attend the Science of Reading PD on October 22nd, you can find the resources and the recording (once it is ready) here.

Having difficulty keeping track of SO MUCH INFORMATION?
We know you're getting deluged with information. We have a few things that may help.
Template for Keeping Track of ILLs--Feel free to make a copy of this to use/adapt. Everyone needs to keep track of ILLs, either on paper or in a document (we do this, too!), and TLC shared one with us that is super easy to use.
Link to TLC LibGuide--This LibGuide has quick links to help, hotlinks, common reports, and more.
How to organize your email--we know you're getting deluged with email. Did you know that your email is searchable? Did you know there are things you can do to organize it? This how-to may help. You can even create a label for storing Smores, like this one!

Bringing History to Life: The Revolutionary War in Saratoga County
SHARE WITH SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS:
On the eve of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we are excited to offer a workshop for teachers looking for new ways to engage with their students while teaching about the Revolutionary War and the extraordinary impact it had on the local inhabitants and armies in the area that would become Saratoga County. Presenters in this workshop will share information about what the local area was like during the time of the war. They will also share primary sources relating to both the Patriot and Loyalist sides of the conflict. Meet historians and educators from local historic sites and museums that offer local resources and programs for the classroom. And finally, learn about new initiatives being developed as part of the 250th Anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga coming up in 2027. Time will be given for educators to brainstorm and develop lesson plans using resources presented at the workshop. Also, all resources will be available through ConsidertheSourceNY.org for continued use in the classroom.
Lunch will be provided and is sponsored by Saratoga250.
