π’ Happening THIS week! π’
Last week, we rolled out our building wide incentive for students, WHOA! You go Cub! Every Cub has a WHOA! card and can earn signatures from any adult in the building for being awesome, setting an example, being a bucket filler, displaying our character trait of the month and other reasons. You'll probably hear about this from your student, so we wanted to keep you in the loop!
π Student Involvement Opportunities π
Is your student hoping to help start a club?
Do you have a student hoping to start a club at Creekside? We are looking to add to our before/after school offerings and would love to hear from your student! Students interested in starting a club may visit the front office and ask to see Ms. Norsworthy, Ms. Sessions or Ms. Smith. We'll share all the details with them of how to get started!
Creekside Choir
Our amazing Choir Teacher, Mrs. Baney, is excited to start up our Creekside Choir! Choir is open to all 4th and 5th graders. These students brought home letters and info last week. Please see the attachment below for that info. Permission slips are due back Monday, September 23 to Mrs. Baney.

MISD Updates & News
Away For The Day - MISD Cell Phone Policy
While communication has been shared at the district level, we wanted to be sure to remind Creekside parents that cell phones and other devices that connect to the internet (smartwatch, texting devices, tablets) are to be turned off during the school day.
Students will be allowed to have cell phones on campus. However, they are expected to be βaway for the dayβ in backpacks and turned off to prevent distractions. The cell phone policy update applies to all MISD classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and other school property during the school day.
The more common device we see at the elementary level is a smart watch/Apple watch device. Please note students are not permitted to have these turned on, therefore it is not necessary for them to wear them during the school day.
