Principal Corner

This week has been Safety Week at OHS and throughout OPS. The staff and students have participated in different safety drills each day. The district also brought in Carly Posey, a national speaker on school safety, for a parent presentation on Tuesday evening and a staff presentation at the district level on Wednesday morning during our delayed start. Our district makes school safety a priority with district safety meetings, school safety meetings, and drills throughout the school year.

Enjoy the extra long 4-day weekend! Don’t forget about the last home varsity football game Friday night!

Weekly Highlights

Safety Week

Our students practiced an evacuation drill on Thursday to the middle school. The entire high school was evacuated and seated at OMS in less than 8 minutes!

Food Drive

The student council's annual food drive kicked off this week. Donations can be dropped off during school hours.

Cultural Bridges

Our foreign exchange students are sharing and cooking recipes from their home countries each week!

Student Top Five

National Honor Society

Need dinner ideas for Tuesday evening? Come out to Panera on West Main from 4-8 pm and help out the National Honor Society raise money for their Christmas project. Bring a physical copy of the attached flyer or show a digital version when you order and a portion of your bill will come right back to the group to help in buying gifts for families in need this holiday season.

Tech Center

Remember that students are still required to attend the tech center if we are not in session. Busses will run from OHS at the normal times (7:40 AM for AM students, and 12:10 PM for PM students) on Monday.
