A Word from Our Principal
Hello Fridley Families!
As a school leader, I believe in the power of feedback in improving outcomes for students. I want your student to have the best possible educational experience while at FHS. As such, I am requesting feedback on how the year has gone for your student. This feedback will be used to look at how we can improve our systems and celebrate the things that are going well. Feel free to email me at kelly.mcconville@fridley.k12.mn.us, call at 763-502-5601 or set up an appointment, otherwise you can fill out this quick feedback form FHS Feedback March 2024 . Let’s Get The FAFSA Done!
Attention parents/guardians of 12th grade students: The FAFSA is an excellent way to get federal and state financial aid (grants and loans) to pay for your student’s college next year and it is free to complete! The FAFSA requires that the student and at least one parent have an FSA ID. You can create an FSA ID HERE. This year’s FAFSA will ask questions about parent/guardian and student’s 2022 taxes. If you would like help with completing the FAFSA, the Get Ready Program at FHS is here to help! Please contact Matt Kiefer at kiefer@isd14.org or 612-516-3206 if you would like to meet in person or virtually before/during/after school to complete the FAFSA!
ACT retakes (12th grade):
12th graders who are interested in retaking the ACT test, should sign up by creating an account on the ACT website. www.act.org . The ACT test does have a fee ranging from $50-$67. Fee waivers are available in the SSS office for students who qualify for free/reduced lunch.
Upcoming ACT tests/registration deadlines:
Test: April 13 Deadline: March 8
ACT - 11th Grade
Juniors will take the ACT at Fridley High School on April 23rd. Please keep your eyes open for a letter to arrive in the mail with more information about the ACT. 11th grade students should plan on arriving at school no later than 8:00 on April 23rd. The ACT will be offered at no cost to students; students will take the ACT online version.
PreACT - 10th Grade
Sophomores will take the PreACT at Fridley High School on April 23rd. 10th grade students should plan on arriving at school no later than 8:00 on April 23rd. The PreACT will be offered at no cost to students.
How to Send a High School Transcript
All college applications will require the student’s high school transcript to be sent after the application is submitted and again after graduation. All transcripts are sent through our electronic service called Parchment. Students need to create an account. They will keep this account even after they graduate to request their transcript. For more information and help with parchment you can also visit the HS website: https://fhs.fridleyschools.org/academics/academic-support-services
1. Go to the Fridley Parchment website: https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/118798/account
2. Create an account. Registration codes were sent to each student (Fridley gmail). If they do not use the code, students need to make sure they are linked to Fridley High School and choose the correct graduation year.
3. Students may request a transcript. They search for the college, then click “Order”.
The order is not automatically sent. Our office secretary reviews the order, uploads the most current transcript, then sends the transcript.
