💡 President's Message 💡
Hello FCS INNOVATORS!!!!!
I am Catrina Cheek, your VATFACS President, and I am so excited to Invite each and everyone to our 2025 VATFACS PDI which is being held at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront from July 20-23, 2025. This will be a great opportunity to “Empower Your Innovation” as we are Revolutionary, Bold, and Trailblazing. You will gain new strategies and new friends along with forging ideas to incorporate into a new school year. This year the board has been working nonstop to ensure your experience at the upcoming PDI should not disappoint you. We are working on creating avenues of resources for each content area taught in FCS that will increase student engagement and community involvement.
Don’t forget to RENEW your MEMBERSHIP. Now is the perfect time to continue investigating your and your students' futures. As We grow as an organization, we will continue to bring more INNOVATIVE techniques and strategies that will help increase academic awareness and success. Also, I shall not forget our SCHOLARSHIP opportunities that are geared to “EMPOWER” future or current FCS educators. Both “MEMBERSHIP” and “SCHOLARSHIP” links are available on our website.
The 2024-25 Strategic Plan outlines to transform community partnerships that embody economic evolution by identifying trailblazing global occupations that support Family Consumer Science curricula. The focuses are to grow professionally with the high demand for developing highly qualified students to enter the workforce, help identify teachers with cross-content similarities for a more inclusive student, and to promote leadership strategies within the organization to help support all FCS educators.
