To Our Amazing Sunrise Families,
The school year has drawn to a close, and I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and partnership.
This year has been filled with growth, learning, and many memorable moments. Our students have done so many exciting things! They have gone on field trips, taken part in creating and putting on assemblies, showcased talents in the talent show, 5th graders ballroom danced and made rockets, leadership students supported the food bank by sorting food donated by Sunrise families, they also helped sort toys during the holidays, and so much more!
I would like to extend my deepest thanks to our staff, whose hard work and dedication have created a nurturing environment where our children can thrive. To our wonderful parents and guardians, your support has been invaluable. Whether through volunteering, participating in school events, or encouraging your children at home, you have played a crucial role in the success of our school community. We are grateful for your trust and collaboration.
Please encourage your children to read and engage in enriching activities over the summer break. Summer learning can be a fun and rewarding experience that keeps minds active and ready for the new school year!
Thank you again for your support, and I wish all of you a safe, happy, and restful summer!

INTRODUCING SUN BUCKS: ENSURE NUTRITIOUS MEALS FOR YOUR CHILD THIS SUMMER - ACT NOW!
Ensure your child has access to nutritious food when school lets out with SUN Bucks! We are excited to announce a new federal nutrition program that will provide families with $120 per eligible child to purchase food during the summer months, providing a boost in grocery budgets when school meals are unavailable. Here are some key details about the SUN Bucks program:
Who is eligible: Eligibility for SUN Bucks is based on household income or participation in other public assistance programs, such as free school meals, SNAP (Basic Food/EBT) and TANF. You can learn if your child is eligible by using this online screening tool.
Benefits: Each eligible child will receive $120 to purchase groceries during the summer months. These funds will be distributed via an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card, which can be used like a debit card at participating grocery stores and retailers.
How to enroll: While school is still in session, make sure you have filled out a Free and Reduced-Price Meals application. Families deemed eligible through this form will automatically receive SUN Bucks. Applications are available in several ways: at all school offices, at https://wwe.enumclaw.wednet.edu/o/esd/page/free-and-reduced, and securely online through Family Access.
Together with the Free Summer Meals program, SUN Bucks are here to ensure your family has nutritious food all summer long. To learn more about these programs, visit HungerFreeWA.org/FreeSummerFood.
