i-Ready Diagnostics Are Now Available! (grades K-8)
As a first step to planning for your students’ academic year, we welcome your student(s) to take the diagnostic assessments in math and reading through i-Ready. The results of these assessments will help you and your advisor find curriculum and create learning plans that best support your students' unique abilities.
To access the i-Ready assessments:
- Go to https://login.i-ready.com/
- Enter Username: LastnameFirstname
Password: Frontier
State: Alaska
- Choose a diagnostic to start
The i-Ready assessments are adaptive, meaning they automatically adjust in difficulty to meet your child where he/she learns best. Students will see questions they can easily answer along with questions for topics they have not yet learned. It might be helpful to tell your student that they are not expected to know all of the answers. Each assessment typically takes students 60+ minutes to complete. Breaks are built into the diagnostic program, but you may choose to start and stop as often as you like or as your student needs. Thank you for partnering with us on this learning adventure!
Feel free to reach out if you have questions or need assistance! Happy Testing!
Battle of the Books
Calling all readers! Do you enjoy reading great books? Do you like trivia about books? Come join our Battle of the Books teams! We are offerings teams this year for grades K-8.
Each year, the Alaska State Librarians Association selects several terrific books for each grade level area.
Students do not have to read all the selected books. It is up to parental discretion.
Frontier students read the books and then meet on Zoom to talk about the books. Each week, the teams practice trivia questions about the books in preparation for the District Battle against other schools. Then in late January/early February, the students test their knowledge of the books in a face-to-face competition.
Please fill out the Google form below to connect your reader(s) with Frontier's Battle of the Books or to get more information.
Happy Reading!!

Reimbursement Reminders
After you make a reimbursement request in SALTT, keep these points in mind to ensure your reimbursement goes as smoothly as possible:
- 1. Send reimbursement requests, invoices, and receipts by EMAIL directly to advisors for approval. (Email is better than dropping off because it saves a little time.)
- 2. Send invoices and receipts as soon as purchases are made. (ASD would like reimbursements submitted to accounting within 60 days of date of purchase).
- 3. Do not to use gift cards, Amazon rewards, digital wallet funds (Venmo, PayPal, Meta, etc.).
- 4. If you have recurring computer reimbursements, create a request for the remaining amount that they would like reimbursed this year.
- 5. Trampoline park and other "jumping" parks cannot be reimbursed.
- 6. Create 1 request for one receipt, and not one request for each item on a receipt. This will save the parent time and save us time. If the receipt purchase is for multiple students, they can create a request under each student, but lump sum the amount for each student.
***Please know that ASD accounting will not approve reimbursements paid with gift cards, Amazon rewards, digital wallet funds (Venmo, PayPal, Meta, etc.).
