After a long week apart, we were thrilled to welcome back our eagles to our building for joyful learning. Students were eager to see their friends and get back into the swing of things. Here we have some kinder students enjoying music class!

Campus 5th to 6th grade Transition Events:

5th grade Parents,

Exciting news ahead! Over the next two weeks, Mrs. Avila and Mrs. Grant will be working with your student to choose electives and courses for the 2024-2025 school year. A presentation of middle school expectations, courses and elective choices will be presented. Elective course selection will take place through guidance classes.

5th to 6th grade Parent Transition Night will be held on Thursday, January 25th at 3:45pm in the Woodlawn Cafeteria. A zoom link will be posted on Facebook for you to connect.

SAISD Event

The Office of Access and Enrollment will be hosting its first annual 5th to 6th grade mini-fair on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6-8 pm at the Alamo Convocation Center. The purpose is to create a family-friendly event to explore and discover programs and enrollment options for 5th grade students transitioning to 6th grade. The mini-fair will give both students and families an opportunity to learn more about 6th grade program offerings through our Choice Schools for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Campus 8th to 9th grade Transition Events:

Eighth Grade Parent Transition night will be held at the Woodlawn Cafeteria on Tuesday, January 23rd from 5:30-6:30pm. Please make plans to attend if you have a rising 8th grade student.

8th Grade Parent/Student Advisement Conferences will take place next month on February 7th and February 8th during the school day. An evening session will take place on February 7th. Please come in at your assigned time for either day. If you are unable to come due to a scheduling conflict, please make arrangements prior to your designated appointment.

Congratulations to Ana, Jazmin, Liliana, and Maria who performed in the MS Advanced Treble All-Region Choir, and Dr. Jennifer Seighman was their Choir conductor.

Region MS Program

We shared with students across our school is used to help students summarize visually and monitor their reading comprehension. Here Mrs. Silva reviews the strategy with our MYP students.

In 2019, we became an SAISD In-District Charter School with Texas Council forInternational Studies, (TCIS) as our managing partner.Through this partnership, we receive additional funding.

Are you interested in participating in a school event as a volunteer. Perhaps support PTO with teacher appreciation events, join your child on a field trip, or help out in a Field Day? You will need a background check through SAISD process. The process can take a few weeks to complete, don't miss out on an opportunity of volunteering because the background check wasn't in on time.
