Operation Christmas Child
The spirit of the season is strong at Richards. Hats off to these fifth graders for their contributions to Operation Christmas Child. They packed up boxes filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items for children in need around the world.
We Have the Best Neighbors!
We are so grateful for our Elks Lodge neighbors! The Elks Lodge donated $500 worth of non-perishable food items for Richards families in need. With the holidays fast approaching these food items will be a welcome gift.
Medical Detectives At Work!
Mrs. Lovan's Project Lead the Way students practiced their dissection skills using sheep brains. They are becoming skilled at identifying the parts of the brain and what areas of the brain control specific functions of the body. The knowledge they gain will help them for future lab work where they will be asked to make a diagnoses for brain ailments.
Bus Safety Reminder
If balloons, are delivered to students at school, they cannot be taken on the bus. Items, such as balloons, that can be a distraction and safety issue for bus drivers must be picked up by parents during parent pickup or they can stay in the office until the parent can pick them up. As stated in the Richards Student Handbook, "Balloons, or other items that may block the driver's view, are not allowed on the bus. When items such as balloons pop it also causes a distraction."
Please see page 19 of the Richards Student Handbook to see a list of bus safety procedures, behavior, and restrictions.

Casey's Cash for Schools
Give back to Richards with Casey’s Rewards
Dear Parents,
We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards. This opens up Richards School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school.
Download the Casey App to get started! Locate the School Donations tab in your Casey’s App Account Settings. Type in Richards R5 School and select. Once you reach 250 Points you can begin donating!
Help Richards R5 School make the most of this program and learn more at Casey's Rewards.
