PV WEEKLY
WEEK 34 EDITION - 5/5/25-5/9/25
PV NJSLA UPDATE
NJSLA (state testing) began this week with ELA. The following testing remains at PV:
- May 13 and 14 - Math
- May 20 and 21 - Science - 8TH GRADE ONLY
Students did a great job of getting here on time with a charged Chromebook this week, so please reinforce the same thing next week. The students put forth a strong overall effort, and we look forward to the same next week with Math.
It is important to remember that NJSLA scores are used to assist in placement of courses in future years. The previously shared letter contains all relevant information: 24-25 PV NJSLA Letter

FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE
May is Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM) which aims to create awareness about the vital role mental health plays in our overall health and well-being and provide resources and information to support individuals and communities who may need mental health support. Each person’s mental health journey is unique, and a strong support system makes a difference. Remember, we all play active roles in caring for our mental health. Some important things to remember on this topic:
Supportive families, schools, and communities help children and teens build strong mental health.
Teaching coping skills early empowers young people to manage emotions and challenges.
Recognizing early signs of mental health concerns can lead to timely support and positive outcomes.
Open conversations about emotions help children develop resilience and feel safe seeking help.
Regular physical activity can help improve children’s mental health and enhance their well-being.
Many children face mental health challenges—early intervention and support can make a difference.
Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Komeshok for information on additional resources.
