Quantum Family Connection
Week of January 13, 2025
Hello Quantum Families,
We had a great first week back from Winter Break! We have many exciting events coming up in the month of January! At the end of next week, we’ll launch our Healthy Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association with a goal of training 100% of students, staff, and at least 1 family member in the life-saving power of hands only CPR. At the end of January, we’ll kick off our Great Kindness Challenge and our Season for Nonviolence. Plus, our 4th grade team will lead sack lunch making for 300 in partnership with Interfaith. January is a great opportunity for our Quantum values to come alive - leading with empathy and impacting the community! Stay tuned for more details next week!
As a reminder, there was a change in the school calendar in regard to Minimum Days. Friday, January 17th, is now a full day of school. Monday, January 20th is MLK Jr Day and schools will be closed. MLK Day is a national day of service that encourages Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. It's a day to reflect on the impact of Dr. King's work and take action to advance his vision for a better society. This also highlights our Quantum value of impacting the community. Talk to your Quark about ways they can help out at home, at school, or in the community.

Dad Squad Orientation
Join our Dad Squad team for the 24-25 school year! Dads can do a lot at Quantum Academy to help support their Quarks. Show your student that you believe in them and their school by volunteering ONE DAY in the school year. Most of our volunteers are moms and now we’d like to give our positive male role models a chance along with other parents/caregivers/grandparents/uncles, etc. All are welcome to volunteer. Who knows, you may like it so much you’ll come again!
Join us on Wednesday, January 22nd, and we want to have as many fathers and father figures there to learn about the program and sign up for dates. We’ll launch at 6pm with pizza. Come to learn about the program and connect with new families!
PTA Association Meeting
Trimester 2 Progress Reports
The midpoint of Trimester 2 is January 17th and it’s hard to believe we are halfway through the school year! Trimester Progress Reports will be mailed home to students in grades 6-8 on Friday, January 24th. iReady scores and progress reports for 4th and 5th grade will be sent home in backpacks the week of January 27th.
Teachers will be reviewing student’s progress on iReady and on our Quantum values and discussing next steps. Please utilize the Rooms app to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions on their academic progress so far this year. Parents in 6-8 are encouraged to check the PowerSchool Parent Portal to monitor grades.
We will also pause our iGrow classes the week of January 21st so teachers have more time to meet individually with students regarding their progress and make a plan for further growth together. Some students may have a new iGrow class, based on their needs, with changes taking place January 27th.
