A Time for Everything (Eccl. 3:1-15 NIV)
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. 15 Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.
The board is closing out and sending our last newsletter for the 2022-23 school year. It is amazing how you can read a scripture many times in your life and yet, how you interpret it depends on which season of life the Lord has you walking through.
My season at LRA is ending. The Lord is beginning a new season for my family and me. We have learned and grown over the last three years.
We will pray and ask for the safety and protection of the students, staff, and families. We will ask for the Lord to satisfy and renew our youth like the eagles. Pray for strength to build and move forward with the Lord’s will at your side. Always keeping Christianity at the forefront.
Prayer has so much power and that is the thing I feel we can give back and have the biggest impact on LRA. I leave LRA with friendships that will continue to flourish and follow me into my new season. It has been a blessing to have this group of believers in my life. It has been an honor to work alongside so many amazing individuals who are so strong in their beliefs. They lifted me up when I was clouded and couldn’t see the Lord’s path.
He, without exception, has a plan. Our future is already decided. It is up to each of us to walk in faith and trust to fulfill the destiny the Lord has for us. Let His will be our way.
Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of the LRA culture. It has been a roller coaster ride and one my family and I will never forget.
Now is the time for many things as Ecclesiastes says… go out, love each other and the life that has been given to you by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Have a great, groovy and blessed summer!

On behalf of the LRA community, thank you for all you have done to lead and support our school. These directors will transition off the board at the end of June.
The Board of Directors would like to welcome the following new directors: Whitney Chandler, Andrew Hammond, and Theron VanMeter. The three new directors will officially join the board as of 1 Jul. Marketing and Fundraising Committee
On April 30th, many of the LRA community gathered at Top Golf to fellowship and play golf while showing support for the growth of our school!
On the rooftop terrace, we perused the silent auction that was filled with amazing items from fancy steakhouse gift cards to artwork, handbags, and decor as well as excursions and new experiences!
Golfing fun was had by all and some of us even enjoyed some one-on-one time with the golf pro who gave tips and pointers.
In addition to fun, food, and fellowship, over $13,000 was raised to benefit LRA! A huge thank you goes out to all who attended and blessed our community!
A very special thank you must be extended to Beth Hall and Chris and Amy Halvorson for facilitating the awesome event and night of fellowship!

LRA Historical Tidbit: Did You Know?
Even before the purchase of that first student’s chair while the 3-person admin team cloistered in the tiny, hot upstairs temporary office, the Head of School and the principals had to come together in a meeting of the minds. Through many years of coaching, the HOS knew the importance of a strong sports program. However, the principals knew a strong academic platform was a must. At the same time, the admin team wanted to achieve the desires of the founding families to have active learning where kids were up and out of their seats. And along with that, the admin had to find a way to do all of this and still have the student body serve the Bulverde community as the feet of Jesus. By the end of the first year, LRA achieved all of that and more.
By the beginning of the second year, LRA had a high school senate, Art Appreciation, Applied Art, Visual Art, Theater Design, and Graphic Design. Other electives included Aviation training (provided through a partnership with Anderson Aviation School), junior and senior internship programs, 4-H, and praise and worship. We also had middle school students participate and compete in Comal County 4-H gardening, cooking, and photojournalism.
I want to end this school year with a story of our outreach program that happened in our first year. One Friday, a team of students was given the responsibility to walk through downtown Bulverde and pray for the businesses there. One shop was closed as the owner had to run an errand. When she returned, the LRA prayer team had weeded her front flower garden. She drove up as they were finishing. This “gift” from our students made her cry as she told them of the many problems she was experiencing with her business and in her personal life. This is just one of the many, many wonderful stories that can be told of how our Lord and Savior has worked through the LRA students.
Let us never forget: Living Rock Academy is God’s work, not ours. He has just allowed us to be a part of HIS-tory!
Have a great summer!
