The Hornet Buzz
November 1-November 15
Mission
To empower, enrich, and enlighten students to reach their full potential while respecting our past.
Greetings from Mrs. Musick
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Sorry for the delay in the newsletter. Thursday was all things Halloween-- walking the parade with our students and bouncing from classroom to classroom, a softball send off, and learning the great places to trick or treat with my family here in St. E.
If you were like me, your Friday and Saturday was all about supporting our softball team. I was also hoping that if I waited to do my newsletter, I could write about our Class 1 State Champs and sure enough, they pulled it off! Something I learned the past couple weeks is that St. Elizabeth is full of tradition, hometown pride, and a true love of sports and our kids. Final 4 wasn't a consistent deal at Osage, so this was a highlight for me seeing a town rally behind a group of kids. Here at St. E it is definitely more of a tradition to make it past districts and even on to the Final 4. This is something anyone can notice when they walk the hallway by our gym. However, I don't think it is a feeling that ever gets old. I could tell that by our crowd this weekend.
Like you, my Hornet pride was beaming this weekend, but it does each day that I come to this building and see our students in our hallways, classrooms, at lunch, and at ball games. I get to walk the halls each day and see how great our students and staff are. Our community also continues to uplift and support us! I am so proud to be a Hornet, and I hope you are too!
We have a few upcoming events such as a parent archery meeting, Fall Fest hosted by SCOP, fall sports awards, Veterans' Day, and NHS blood drive. We also have our winter sports starting up today with games coming soon. Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving break and having a much earned break with family.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school. As always, please reach out if you have any questions, feedback, or concerns.
Warm regards,
Ashley Musick

There will be a parent meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria on November 6th for those interested in archery. Archery is for grades 4-12. There are MONASP rule changes (requests) to discuss, and the Conference has decided to have a tournament this year. We will also be asking for help with coaching. Positive Office Referrals
I have loved seeing kids in the office for positive things! I have had preschool all the way up to a senior in my office for something good! They have a variety of prizes to choose from when they come to my office and spin the wheel--coupons, candy, snack, etc. Snack has been pretty popular!
Congrats to the following students for earning one for the week of October 21-24:

Reminders for the School Year
Change to your child's end of day routine: Please be sure to let the office know of any changes to end of day routine by 2:30.
Unprepared: Students in grades 5-12 can be marked unprepared. Once class starts, students are unprepared if they don't have their book, notes, homework, chromebook, or charger. It can also be marked unprepared for an uncharged chromebook. Once a student gets three, a note will go home. Once they receive the 4th, a phone call will be made by me and they will have to serve a detention. More detentions come after the 4th unprepared if more are given. These will restart at semester. I wanted to make sure to clarify on these since we have had a few now. Unprepared is also listed in our handbook if you have any questions.
Coats/Jackets: With the change in weather, please make sure your child is coming with a coat or jacket!
