Bluejacket Family Communication
October 10, 2024
Dear Bluejacket Families
As we move into October, I'm filled with gratitude for our families and caregivers who are actively participating in conferences across our schools. Your engagement and partnership in your child's education are vital to their success. We are incredibly grateful for prioritizing this time to connect with teachers and staff—your involvement makes a huge difference! Together, we’re building a strong foundation for every student’s ongoing success.
Last week, we celebrated Homecoming Week, and it was fantastic! From spirited pep fests, to the energy at the game, and all the events in between, it was a joy to see our students, families, local businesses, and community members come together to celebrate what makes our district and community special - The People. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week a great success. The sense of school pride and unity is truly inspiring! GO BIG BLUE!
October is also Bullying Prevention Month, and it's an important time for us to reaffirm our commitment to The Bluejacket Way. We're focused on respect, responsibility, and compassion—values that help create a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Let's continue to work together to build and refine school cultures where every student feels supported and valued.
Just a reminder that MEA break is upon us and students will be in attendance Monday through Wednesday next week with an extended weekend to follow. I hope families can take this opportunity to enjoy time together and maybe even enjoy an outdoor adventure or two before the return of winter is here.
Thanks again for all you do to support our students and schools. We are ALWAYS better together and greatly appreciate our family partnerships!
Nate Rudolph

No School: Thursday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 18
Test of the Emergency Notification System
A test of our Emergency Notification System is scheduled for October 17 at noon (Thursday of MEA Break). Please be on the lookout for this test, and thank you for helping us ensure our communication systems are ready and effective. The test notification will be sent via email, phone call, and text message. If you do not receive the message or you do not receive it in the format you would like to receive it in, please contact mstebbins@c-ischools.org or 763-689-6191.
Winter Weather Procedures
In the event of inclement weather, C-I Schools may activate an eLearning Day, a two-hour delayed start, or an early release. Please familiarize yourself with our School Closing, Delay and Alert Plans and be prepared. Make plans for how a schedule change might affect your family. In case of a change, we will use our emergency notification system and send emails, texts, and phone calls to all contact information in Skyward Family Access.
Deadline for Immunization Updates - October 16
Earlier this summer, we reminded families of the immunization requirements we must have students follow. We are now less than two weeks away from the October 16 deadline for all students to have documentation of immunization. As outlined in the email from the School Health Office, students must have verification of required immunizations, exemption form, or proof of upcoming appointment on file. Our health offices have been contacting parents/guardians of students who do not have current immunizations on file. In addition, our Final Notice from the district office was sent out last week. Please check your email for this important notification and to be sure your child remains eligible to attend school. Students must have up-to-date immunization documents on file or will be sent home from school on October 21, 2024, per state statute. The health office staff are working hard to talk with families, but we continue to have students who are out of compliance.
National School Bus Safety Week: Stop for the School Bus Stop Arm
During National School Bus Safety Week, October 21 - 25, we’re reminding everyone about one critical rule: when you see the school bus stop arm, you must stop. The stop arm extends when students are getting on or off the bus, and it’s there to protect them as they cross the road.
It’s simple—if you see the stop arm, stop your vehicle. Let’s work together to keep our students safe by staying alert and following the law.
