Happenings...

Some of the Willow halls had new sounds this week... our chicks have been hatching! Each of the Kindergarten rooms have been monitoring them closely, as you can see from the photos below. From Willow thye move to their permanent digs on a farm in Indiana.

The next two weeks have activities daily. Be sure you are checking all the communication coming from your child's teacher. We'd like to invite all of you to come on the last day and join your child's class as we do ACES ( All Children Exercise Simultaneously), starting at 9:30. In addition to a little exercise, there will also be some song and dance to celebrate the end of the year.

Next week we will have all the "lost and found" items set up on tables outside. PLEASE take a look and see if your wildcat is missing anything. These will be located in between door A and door B.

Please continue to send your child with a labeled water bottle. This will become important when our annual kickball tournament gets under way.

Don't forget the June 1st deadline if you would like to send a letter regarding the best learning atmosphere for your child next year. Please remember that we do not take teacher requests.

Special Guest...

In Mrs. Foster's 2nd grade class, they had been reading a series of books. They sent the author, Tom Watson, a note to let him know how much they enjoyed his books. It turns out, that Mr. Watson lives in the city and was up for a visit to Willow. He spent time with Mrs. Foster's class and then taught all of the 2nd graders how to draw two of the stars from his books, Stick Dog and Stick Cat. Thanks to the PTA, we were able to make sure each 2nd grader had his/her own copy of the first Stick Dog book. To find out more about Tom Watson, click here: https://stickdogbooks.com/the_author

Flower fundraiser...

Shop at Ted's Greenhouse in Tinley Park (4 acres of plants to choose from!) from May 15th through June 15th and the Homewood Parent Music Association will get 20% of the net proceeds to help support music education throughout the school district. You must show this flyer or mention "Homewood PMA" when purchasing.

Cook's Night Off...
