Knights News
April 1 - 5
Dear Families,
We are sending our newsletter out early this week to remind families that there will be no school on Friday or Monday for the Easter Holiday.
Spring is officially here, and with it comes a lot of excitement as we celebrate our learning, community and growth! As we transition into spring, please ensure that students are dressed accordingly to stay comfortable and ready for whatever the weather brings. Please remember to layer up, bring umbrellas or jackets for rain, and wear appropriate footwear for outdoor play.
In classes, we have been digging into learning new skills, exploring new concepts, and sharpening our problem-solving skills. It's exciting to see the progress and enthusiasm for learning! Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts are great skills to practise at home as well to build automaticity.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Big Box of Cards fundraiser. We will announce the pick up date as soon as we know!
Mark your calendars! The solar eclipse is on the horizon. Although we won't be together on April 8th (PA Day), many classes are incorporating learning around this event into the classroom. Every student will receive a pair of eclipse glasses next week so that the eclipse can be watched safely at home.
We can't wait for the week ahead!

Welcome to Kindergarten!
Welcome to Kindergarten! This is an exciting time for both you and your student. Kindergarten is a wonderful experience and your student’s next phase on their journey of learning.
We are now accepting new student registrations for this September 2024. If your student is four or five by the end of December, now is the time to register.
We are committed to supporting you every step of the way. Our dedicated staff are here to assist you throughout this process. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the school.
Concussion Protocol
In order to follow the LDSB concussion protocol, and in an abundance of caution, any time a student takes a blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body that transmits a force to the head, we must suspect a concussion, Form 142-1 Tool to Identify a Suspected Concussion will be completed, and parents will be contacted.
If after a bump to the head, if your child exhibits one or more worrisome signs or symptoms, parents will also be asked to complete Form 142-4 Documentation of Medical Examination indicating that their child is symptom free and able to “return to learn” and then to “return to physical activity,” 24 hours later.
Should your student be diagnosed with a concussion, please alert the school right away, and complete and return the below documents to the school:
Form 142C4 Documentation for a Diagnosed Concussion - Return to Learn/Return to Physical Activity Steps 2a-6 (this is a process and will take time to work through between school and home)
We take suspected concussions/diagnosed concussions very seriously and we appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of your student. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
Triboard Transportation
Tis the season for bus cancellations....As the weather gets colder, families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account.
Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting date is March 25th at 6:30. We are looking forward to meeting in the library. Please let us know if you can make it and if you will require childcare.
