From the Principal~
THANK YOU to all who participated in our Parent/Teacher Conferences a few weeks back – it was a joy to see you in our halls and classrooms! We are grateful for your partnership and hope you’ll stay in close touch with our teachers and staff; working together, we can make great things happen!
I can't believe that we are already looking at Thanksgiving Break soon. This year is zooming by and students have already made a lot of growth. Let's continue through the winter with being on time to school and strong attendance through the rest of the year.
Please contact the office and your child's teacher if you know your child will be out.
A reminder that when students are home sick, we will not provide work until they are back to school. We want them to concentrate on feeling better so they are able to do their best learning when they return. If students are out more than three consecutive days, an alternative learning form will be sent home and will need to be signed and returned to the office.
The office has been inundated with phone calls regarding arrangements for after-school transportation. Relaying these messages interferes with classroom instruction. We ask that you please make arrangements with your child before they leave for school in the morning. Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for supporting the LHE library by shopping at the Book Fair!
We appreciate all the support we are given from families on a daily basis!

There is no longer a permission slip for the Personal Safety (safe touch vs. unsafe touch lessons), but there is an opt out slip that I will send home. If you prefer your child not attend you can sign the opt-out slip. I look forward to teaching in your child’s class this year.

Holiday Bazaar - LHE K-Kid Club Needs Your Help!!
COATS, HATS, AND SHOES!
Thank you for your help!
Reminder~No parents on the playground before school, during lunch recess, and after school.
Please make "going-home" arrangements before school. It interrupts instruction when we have to call into classrooms for changed plans.
Attendance Matters!
West Ada's Attendance Policy defines excessive absences as more than 6 per semester (Aug.-Dec. and Jan.-May) and excessive tardies as more than 5 in the school year.
While we want students to stay home if ill, we appreciate families making PUNCTUALITY and school attendance a priority - now's the time to establish GREAT lifelong habits!
There are several non-holiday days off for students this school year. I encourage you to look ahead and move or schedule appointments on those days, if possible. 2023-2024 School Calendar Learning starts at the bell, so tardies do impact your child. It causes them stress about missing and trying to catch up.
Tutor.com, Grades 3rd-5th
The 'tutor' answers questions by speaking or texting; neither student nor tutor are on camera. All conversations are recorded by Tutor.com and can be accessed and reviewed by teacher (and sent to parent, if requested). Gr 3-5 students can access Tutor.com through the Clever app on their school device, or on a home device if logged into Clever.
Hope you'll give it a try!
