Family Newsletter for the Week of 3/18/24
Start of 4th Marking Period
This week marks the start of our 4th and final Marking Period. We recognize that this time of year is filled with activities both in and outside of school. It is important that students use their time wisely in class to maintain their grades through the end of the school year. Let's finish strong!!
Responsibility Pass Reward
We were able to take time at the end of 3rd Marking Period and reward the students that had remaining Responsibility Passes. For every pass that students had at the end of the marking period they were able to exchange them for a treat. All students are issued 4 passes at the start of each marking period. These passes serve as a pass when they need to return to their locker for supplies, need to charge or borrow a Chromebook, or use the restroom during class. Students also were able to earn additional responsibility passes by demonstrating growth on their NWEA. We had a large crowd this marking period. Nice work, Comets!!
Leprechaun Games - Citizenship Reward
The end of the marking period means it is time again to reward our students for meeting expectations. Our 7th grade team planned our First Annual Leprechaun Games! Our students had a great time and left with St. Patty's day swag as well.

8th Grade Families
Linked below is the PSAT8 Student Guide. All students taking the PSAT8 should review the guide with their families for test day security purposes as it previews test-day expectations that students will agree to on test day via the BlueBook testing app.
Also linked below is an opt-out form for families to review if you do not wish for your student to participate or provide optional information for the BigFuture School app and/or the new Connections program. Opting-out for these platforms during the PSAT8 would mean that your student would not be linked to BigFuture or Connections correspondence related to planning and preparing for college and/or scholarship opportunities. If families opt out, I will need a printed copy of the opt-out form below by Tuesday, March 19. If you are unable to print the form from home, please have your student see Mrs. Fitzgerald for a printed copy to bring home.

Tickets Available for LMC Performance
We are excited to announce that we have student tickets available for the upcoming performance of The Lightning Thief, a Percy Jackson Musical at the Mendel Center. Tickets are available in the CARE closet and your child will have the opportunity to purchase a student ticket with their CARE cards this week! Don't miss out on this opportunity!!!
Study Hall Reminders
Just a reminder that we offer Study Hall every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:05 - 4:05. Students have enough time to grab an after school snack and their things and report to the Study Hall room. Study Hall can be used for additional help on assignments in any content area, additional time on assignments, access to the internet for larger projects or test make-ups.
In an effort to ensure that students are safe and supervised, students must remain in the Study Hall room until 4:05 unless prior arrangements have been made by a caregiver. Students are responsible for their own transportation after study hall.
Lions Vision Screening
The Lions will be coming in to complete vision screening for all students in Grades 6-8. This will take place the morning of Wednesday, March 27th. If you do not want your child to participate, please complete the opt out letter included below and return to the office by March 25th.
