Georgetown Middle School Gazette
October 4, 2024
Dear Middle School Families,
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Batchelder to our Middle School Team! He will be our civics long term substitute. He started working with students this past Thursday.
Each day students at Georgetown Middle School are handed Royal Way slips when they show our character traits of Respect, Responsibility and Community. Students hand their slips into the main office. Once a week, we will be drawing ten slips from seventh and eighth grade. During the week, students picked will be able to access our middle school community room on Tuesday during the WIN Block. The community room has games and activities for students. We want to acknowledge our students who are doing the right thing and showing respect. This October, we will be focusing on Kindness as our character trait.
Our Essex County Youth Retreat that was previously canceled due to weather will take place this Thursday, October 10th. We are excited for our eighth graders to come and share their leadership skills with the Georgetown Middle School.
Student MCAS test results are in. We are working to mail the parent reports to you and will send out information as soon as they are mailed so that you can be on the lookout.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Best Regards,
Hope Doran
Assistant Principal
Welcome Mr. Batchelder
Hello! My name is Benjamin Batchelder and I will be the long term sub for the 8th grade civics class. I am coming from the Rupert A. Nock Middle School in Newburyport, Massachusetts. I attended Merrimack College where I received my bachelors degree in History and Education. I also recently graduated from Merrimack College for my masters degree in teacher education. I will create a safe and welcoming classroom for all students, and will deliver content in creative and engaging ways. I look forward to joining Georgetown Middle School. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
