Cell Phone and Smartwatch Expectations
Moving forward, we will have signs in our classrooms and other locations throughout the school to remind students that personal devices should be kept away. When cell phones are seen, teachers and staff will remind students of the rule. For a second infraction, the staff member will communicate with the student and parent/guardian and assign an appropriate consequence (loss of privilege during the day). All future infractions will be referred to the principal. After repeated offenses, the principal may choose to store the student's cell phone for the day.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated each year and provides opportunities to discuss making healthy choices and staying drug free! One way that we will celebrate is by participating in themed dress weeks. Please join us in participating in the themes above, as well as discussing a healthy choice that matches the theme each day!

Student Spotlight
We kicked off Red Ribbon Week on 10/25! It was great to see so many students and staff wearing red to promote making healthy choices!
Mrs. Wilson's Fourth Grade Class had their first publishing party for the year. Students shared their writing, enjoyed snacks, and cheered each other on during the process!
Students in Ms. Brown's class strengthened their language and fine motor skills by working together to build a pumpkin craft!
AE Champions
Congratulations to third-grade student Baylie Morrison! She has shown that she is a Champion of Hard Work!
We're so proud of fifth grader Akira Carroll! This week, she showed that she's a Champion of Encouragement by supporting several of her classmates!
Congratulations to fourth-grade students Brett Pringle and Zoe Brossman, who have shown they are Champions of Kindness! They are the first winners to be recognized through Ms. Gergenti's Dutchman Way Course!
Fourth-grade student Charley Bullock was a Champion in our community! She led her team in raising $5000 to help with Type 1 Diabetes research, which will hopefully lead to finding a cure! She was cheered on by classmate Melanie Zimmerman and high school seniors Ava Hoover and Kendall Cooper.
