It is time to start thinking about middle school choices for your 5th grader! I know it feels early, but Middle School and High School choices start in January!

• Monday, January 6, 2025 through Friday, February 28, 2025: Applications for Middle School lottery are accepted (Applications are NOT first come first serve. The lottery drawing takes place at a later date)
• January 9, 2025: Online Middle School Choice Fair from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• February 28: Last day to sign-up for the FREE COSI membership

CCS has multiple school choices for students in our district for the 24/25 school year.

Middle School

If your student is moving on to middle school, they will automatically be enrolled in the Middle School assigned to their address or based on their special education needs. Most students at Burroughs will be assigned to Hilltonia. You do not need to do anything for your student to be enrolled at the assigned Middle School. If you would like, you can submit an application to lottery in to another middle school. Applications for Middle School lottery are accepted via the Parent Portal Monday, January 6, 2025 through Friday, February 28, 2025.

Lottery applications to a different school are not guaranteed - you will be notified by email if your student was offered enrollment at a school through the lottery. You will have to accept the enrollment at the school to change your student's enrollment.

If you are interested in looking at another middle school you should attend the Virtual Middle School Choice Fair: January 9, 2025: from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.at: https://www.ccsoh.us/schoolchoice

Students can apply to almost all middle schools (not Berwick) but there will only be a bus to the following schools and only if the school is more than 2 miles from the home.
