Science Fair
We are extending our sign up for the school Science Fair through Monday, December 5th. This opportunity is for students in grades 3-5. The Science Fair will take place on January 27th, 2023. If you are interested, please complete the Science experiment/STEM application by Monday, December 5th. If you need more information or help in completing your project, please review this slide show. For more information email kellie.shanahan@nhcs.net
Reminders:
Please make sure that car signs are visible, and placed in the front window, passenger side, of your vehicle at parent pick-up. We ask that the sign stays up until your child enters your vehicle. This helps our parent pick-up line move quickly. If you need a new sign, please see Ms. Harrison at the front desk.
If you plan to attend a holiday party or activity with your child's class, please make sure you have confirmed with your child's teacher. In most cases you will be asked to complete the volunteer training process.

Volunteer Information
All volunteers must complete the training orientation, complete and turn in a volunteer application form, and take the volunteer assessment with 80% or higher each school year.
Volunteer application forms are linked below, and are also available in the front office.
All field trip chaperones must become a Level II volunteer, which requires a background check through NHCS. Background checks are good for three years. You can log into your account to check your expiration date, or contact Mrs. Allen. The NHCS background check system is linked below.
If you attended training last year with Mrs. Allen, there is an option to attend a self-paced training online and submit a quiz. Please contact Mrs. Allen for more information.
Level I
Parents, family, or community members volunteering to assist students in a supervised setting are not required to undergo a background check if they are continually supervised by school personnel during the school day.
Level II
Parents, family, or community members volunteering to assist students in an unsupervised setting away from school personnel are deemed Level II Volunteers. We also ask that all chaperones become Level II volunteers, as well as those interested in assisting in our media center and cafeteria at Eaton Elementary. An applicant designated a Level II Volunteer must complete the online application and the criminal background check. Applications must be completed at least two weeks prior to the time you wish to begin volunteering. The cost of background checks are $20.
