Beautiful Stuff Project Mosaic Collaboration
Thanks to a generous Watertown Cultural Council grant, Lowell artists all participated in a mosaic art project in collaboration with The Beautiful Stuff project. The mosaic was installed in our school garden on April 15th. This was created with assistance from Emily Bhargava, an artist from The Beautiful Stuff Project.
Learning Goals
PreK & Kindergarten: Pinch Pots
I can create a pinch pot with clay.
I can glaze a pinch pot with three layers, following appropriate glazing procedures.
I can create a painting of my favorite form of transportation.
First Grade: Pinch Pot Monsters
I can create a pinch pot monster with clay and use proper slip and score procedures.
I can glaze a pinch pot with three layers, following appropriate glazing procedures.
Second Grade: Pinch Pot Pets
I can create a pinch pot pet with clay and use proper slip and score procedures.
I can glaze a pinch pot with three layers, following appropriate glazing procedures.
Third & Fourth Grade: Creative Coil Pots
I can create a coil pot with appropriate scoring techniques.
I can glaze a coil pot with at least three layers and appropriate glazing procedures.
Fifth Grade: Creative Clay Slab Boxes
I can create a clay slab box and slip and score to attach pieces.
I can add creative elements to transform my clay slab box.
I can glaze a pinch pot with three layers, following appropriate glazing procedures.
District Art Show 2025
