✨ Berkley School District is hiring BHS students!
Apply by January 24th
The Berkley School District is looking for 3-5 BHS students interested in working afternoon hours (4 hrs/shift) as needed to assist with short term/temporary Custodial support.
- Hourly rate of pay: $15.00
- Hours available: 4:00-8:00 PM, Monday - Friday (MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 5 days/week)
- Maximum of 20 hours/week
- Building placement would be determined based on need and could change day to day. Must have transportation.
- Students 16 and 17 years of age will need a work permit, which are available in the Career Center.
Custodial support includes:
- Moving supplies and equipment from building to building
- Classroom cleaning of desks, sinks, floors
- Sweep/vacuum classrooms, hallways, common spaces
- Disinfect bathrooms; wipedown doors and drinking fountains
- Empty trash, and related.
- Training will be provided!

CASA (Center for Advanced Studies & the Arts) is a consortium school serving Berkley, Clawson, Ferndale, Lamphere, Madison, Oak Park and Pontiac school districts. CASA offers sixteen Advanced Placement courses, a vibrant visual arts curriculum and a robust advanced dance program.
If you are a current 10th or 11th grade student who would like to learn more about CASA, sign up to attend an information session on Tuesday, January 28, during 3rd hour in the LMC.

At OSTC-SE, we offer a range of CTE programs that provide students with the technical skills and academic knowledge needed to prepare for future employment and/or a successful transition to post-secondary education. Our rigorous education programs are designed to meet the needs of each student, and our instructors are dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.
Students will attend OSTC in either the AM or PM Session and will take (3) classes at BHS.

Admitted Seniors event at EMU on Feb 1st & March 8th
- Flying Home VIP Day for students admitted to EMU is scheduled Saturday, February 1 and Saturday, March 8, 2025.
- This celebratory event is designed to celebrate the accomplishments of our admitted students and ensure they are supported through the enrollment process.
- Invitations have been sent to all admitted students so please encourage them to RSVP.

🚨 SENIORS: Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA
STEP 1: Create your FSA ID (student, parent/guardian)
The Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID (or studentaid.gov login) is a username and password that is required to log in and access all Federal Student Aid websites, including the FAFSA. Serves as a legal signature when you submit your FAFSA. Go to studentaid.gov and click “create account” in the upper right hand corner. (do not use your BRK email)
👉 All those contributing to a FAFSA (parent/guardian) must create separate FSA IDs
🤷 Not sure who counts as a parent? Use the “Who is My Parent?” tool
STEP 2: Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA
- Gather the information needed to complete the FAFSA: You’ll need information on income, assets, and demographics. 📝This handy FAFSA checklist can help you organize everything you need.
- Begin the FAFSA, invite your parent as a contributor to the FAFSA. Enter your parent/guardian email, so they can complete their portion of the FAFSA.
- List the colleges, trade schools, that you applied to or are thinking of applying to. You can always log-in later and edit your ranking of schools.
- You and your parent/contributor will need to "sign" your FAFSA with your FSA IDs.

The workshop aims to engage, educate, and empower students on the facts and issues regarding gender diversity in STEM, and provide an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and network.
Who can participate?

- The workshop is particularly geared towards girls who are considering majors in engineering or technology fields.

💰Co-pay Reimbursement for Mental Health Services
The Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) Mental Health School Navigators are Behavioral Health Professionals that provide outreach and resources to Schools in Oakland County. Their goal is to reduce barriers to mental health services which sometimes includes financial difficulties.
OCHN’s Mental Health School Navigators can provide families with a financial reimbursement resource that provides up to $2000 per household to help cover co-pays and deductibles by a qualified mental health professional, such as for therapy or psychiatry.
These funds are available to any Oakland County student. For more information and to be considered for the reimbursement, complete this form.
