Coldwater High School social studies teacher, Mrs. Karen Kiss, was selected by the Branch County Chamber of Commerce as the 2025 Educator of the Year. Ms. Kiss was nominated by former student and current colleague, Ms. Amanda Morick, who had this to say, "Karen Kiss is the life-blood of CHS. With grace and near-perfect planning, she created opportunities for our students to feel connected and engaged through unique high school experiences - an incredible Homecoming Week, exciting spirit days with prizes, and consistent academic support for all learners. Beyond the classroom, Karen fosters camaraderie among staff by organizing outings and keeping everyone informed about school events. Her positivity, professionalism and dedication to students are evident in everything she does."

Congratulations also goes out to Mr. Todd Farmer, Coldwater High School Athletic Director, for his recognition as the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Region VII Athletic Director of the Year. Farmer has been the athletic director at CHS since 2017. Mr. Farmer has worked to develop an athletic program where student-athletes are successful on and off the field. The leadership, dedication and passion Mr. Farmer bring to CHS continues to inspire an dmake a lasting impression on our community.

Evan Poradzisz, CHS senior, has been recognized as a National Merit Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Evan is recognized for his exemplary academic performance and potential. National Merit Finalists are among the top 1% of students in their respective states! Finalists are selected based on their SAT score, their overall performance in rigorous coursework and service to their school community. Congratulations Evan!
