Welcome To Week #12
Dear Brahma Family,
It’s Branding Iron Week! On Friday, we’ll be cheering on Brahma Football at Walnut High School as they compete for the Branding Iron. The Branding Iron, which has been proudly displayed in the DBHS front office for several years, is something we hope to keep for many more! Throughout the week, there will be lunchtime activities, culminating in a Pep Rally on Thursday.
This Thursday is also Halloween, and on Monday and Tuesday, our Pathways Academy will host their annual Haunted House for any teachers brave enough to take their classes through it. The Pathways Haunted House is always an impressive production—thank you to all the Pathways students and teachers for the hard work it takes to bring it to life.
Speaking of hard work, congratulations to the Thundering Herd for a great start to the marching season. They dominated the first two events, showcasing the incredible precision of the band, color guard, and drum major. If you get a chance to see them perform, it’s truly a sight to behold.
Our Fall Play, The House on Haunted Hill, has two more performances on Saturday, November 2: a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 7 p.m. Don’t miss out!
A huge congratulations to our Volleyball team for a fantastic first season in the Palomares League. On Saturday night, they battled through four close games but ultimately fell in their second-round CIF match against the Costa Mesa Mustangs.
The postseason for Girls Golf begins with the CIF Southern Section Individual Regional Tournament on Monday, October 28, at Bear Valley Golf Course in Victorville. Congratulations to our qualifiers: Juliet Oh, Carol Yan, and Moani Finau. The Team Championship Tournament will be held next Monday, November 4, at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills. Our Boys Water Polo team will kick off their CIF playoff run on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at home against Western High School. Good luck to everyone competing!
Finally, next Saturday, HOPE will host their first Car Show in the DBHS Parking Lot from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s free to attend, so come out and enjoy the cars while supporting this great event.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
Sincerely,
David Hong
