Anchor Chart
O3
Earning the Square
Use an anchor chart to help your students develop better critical thinking skills.
An anchor chart is...
- something best made with your students as you teach a lesson
- a means of scaffolding and walking through a thought process or steps
- a visual representation of key concepts
- something you can reference, and even add more to, in following lessons
An anchor chart is NOT...
- a work of art
- just for elementary teachers
Below are a few great articles to help you understand how to use anchor charts effectively. Read one or more of them and then use an anchor chart in a lesson to help your students through a higher order thinking/learning activity.
