WHES Family Newsletter: November Edition
HAPPY NOVEMBER!
As we welcome November, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude, community, and the changing seasons. This month brings exciting opportunities for growth and learning. Our students are continuing to explore new topics and build on the foundation they've established so far this year. Please stay connected with your child's teacher for specific classroom updates and upcoming assignments & events.
Just a few reminders and updates:
- As temperatures begin to drop, please be sure your child is dressed warmly for outdoor activities. Layering clothing and wearing weather-appropriate gear, such as hats, gloves, and boots, will help keep everyone comfortable as we enjoy the outdoors in the coming months.
- As you come have lunch with your child or you join our family event Night of the Arts on Nov. 21st, please take a moment to check our lost and found. Items that are left will be donated during Holiday break.
- Please make your child's teacher is made aware of when you will check your child out early so they can have your child ready to be dismissed.
- Please remind your child that on the days that they have PE-- they must wear tennis shoes for safety purposes. Sandals, crocs, flip flops, etc are not allowed in PE. If your child wears them to the gym they may receive an alternative activity or will have to sit out of the activity. Please try to have them wear tennis shoes on PE days!
- If you would to submit a thankful note, you may do so here. They will be open throughout the month of November.
We are incredibly grateful for your continued support as partners in your child's education. Together, we can make this a memorable and successful school year. If you have any questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you so much for being a part of The Weddington Hills Family! I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving season!
Annessia Lee, Principal
#UnlockthePawsibilities
All of our Wildcats have been using these Thinking Maps to plan out and sketch out their thinking. Ask your child to show you how to use one!
iReady Kickoff
With 2 weeks left, it's been an impressive run for our iReady kickoff. Our Wildcats have passed over 15,000 Reading lessons in a month. All students K-5 have access to this program and can access it afterschool via Clever.com on any device. If you would like for your child to use it at home, contact their teacher for their login information. It is a great way for them to practice Reading and Math skills on their level.
Virtual Curriculum Night
If you were unable to attend our PTO Fall Festival/Tech Night, we made our curriculum night virtual. You can access it by clicking here. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.
