Bro-B-Q was a huge success. We hope each singer had a GREAT time singing and playing. Our next event will be singing the national anthem at the home football game on October 25th.

The A Cappella singers will be singing at UNT this Tuesday. Be sure to check all logistics down below if you are in A Cappella Choir.

A Cappella Singers,

Please bring your concert uniform with you. Mrs. Coogle will give you the concert shoes on Tuesday morning.

Attire: Be sure to bring your uniform in a bag and LABEL YOUR BAG!!!

Tenor Bass: Black Tux Jacket, White shirt, Black Tux Pants, and BLACK DRESS SOCK
Treble: Black Concert Dress

Hair & Make Up:

Mrs. Coogle will have all hairbrushes & products. If you wish to bring your own, please do so.

Itinerary:

• 8:50AM - Come to the CHS Choir Room
• 8:50AM - 9:55AM - Warm Up & Rehearse
• 9:55AM - Get on bus and depart for UNT
• 11AM - Arrive at UNT
• 11-12PM - Lunch on campus at Bruce Hall (1624 Chestnut St, Denton, Texas 76201)
• 1-2PM - Clinic with Dr. Napoles (UNT College of Music - 415 Avenue C, Denton, TX 76201)
• 2-3PM - Observe UNT Choir Rehearsal
• 3PM - Depart for CHS
• 4PM - Eat early box dinner and change into concert attire
• 5PM - Depart for Murchison Performing Arts Center (2100 N Interstate 35, Denton, TX 76201)
• 6PM - Arrive at the Performing Arts Center
• 6:20-6:40PM - Rehearse on stage
• 7:30PM - Concert starts
• 8:45PM (ish) - Concert ends and depart for CHS
• 9:30PM - 10PM - Arrive at CHS

Schedule:

• Come to Choir during 3rd period as normal - You will stay in the Choir room during 4th to eat early dinner and depart for UTD
• 2:40 - 4PM: Eat Pizza and change into concert attire
• 4PM - Depart for UTD
• 5:30 PM - Singers arrive at UT Dallas Edith O’Donnell Building - ATC Lecture Hall (see above for drop-off location)
• 6:00 PM - Chanticleer performs for 20+ minutes
• 6:30 PM - Individual Choir Performances
• 7:45 PM - Chanticleer returns to the stage to lead the singing of Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria conducted by Dr. Tim Keeler, Chanticleer’s music director.
• 8:00 PM- Dismissal
• 9PM - Arrive at CHS

ADDITIONAL NOTES ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24

• This event is open to singers, teachers, and chaperones only.
• There's no recording and only limited photography is allowed.
• No food or drink is allowed in the ATC Lecture Hall.

• Casual attire welcome– formal concert black is not expected to be worn.

• There will be a Steinway grand on stage, along with no fewer than 6 Wenger choral risers. Also, we will be using some subtle audio amplification, so know that mics will be on stage. Stage monitors are not necessary. One wireless mic (on a stand) will be available should you need it.

PUBLIC CONCERT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25

• Chanticleer will offer a full performance for the public on Friday, October 25th at 7:30 p.m. in the ATC Lecture Hall.
• Tickets: $12 for adults | $6 for children 17 and younger and for senior citizens

• Members of Chanticleer will be available after the concert to greet audience members in the Lobby of the Lecture Hall.

UTA Music invites all interested in pursuing a career as a choral/elementary music educator to an exceptional day at the University of Texas at Arlington ~ Choral Music Education Day ~ an immersion experience on October 25, 2024. They will experience Choral Methods, Elementary Methods, Conducting, and the A Cappella Choir! We love sharing what it is like to be a Maverick that makes a difference.

SRF Monthly Quizzes

You will take a monthly SRF quiz at the end of every month. This will be a Performance Tasks

Grade. You only get 2 tries so be sure that your wifi connection is good and your audio sound is

on. You have the entire month to take the quiz. Every month’s quiz will be due on the LAST

FRIDAY of the month at 10PM. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

SRF Practice Log

Each singer is expected to practice sight reading on SRF for 10 minutes per week (2 minutes

each day of the week) and 40 minutes per month. This will be a completion grade. SRF will

keep track of all your practice log data. We will give one Performance Tasks monthly SRF

Practice Log each month. Please be sure to practice SRF weekly. Each week will start on SUNDAY and end on SATURDAY.
