Good Morning Foussat Families!

Welcome to a new school year! We are filled with excitement and anticipation for the wonderful experiences and learning opportunities that lie ahead for our students. We are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where every student can thrive. The year promises to be filled with exploration, discovery and growth. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child has a successful and enjoyable school year. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Alma Casillas to Foussat in her role as Assistant Principal. Ms. Casillas brings with her a wealth of experience that will benefit all of our students. She has experience as a Special Education teacher, a district Teacher on Special Assignment and also as an assistant principal. Some of you will remember that she was previously at Foussat and we are happy to welcome her back!

Kinder orientation will be on Wednesday, August 14th. TWBI orientation is scheduled for 1:00 PM, English classes TK/Kinder orientation will be at 2:00 PM. Orientations will be held in the MPR - we look forward to meeting everyone and introducing our amazing teachers!

Our school campus will be open on Tuesday, August 14th from from 4:00 - 5:00 PM so that parents and students can have a chance to see where their classrooms will be and where to line up in the mornings on the playground. Some teachers will still be busy getting ready for the first day, please use this time only to locate classrooms and morning lineups. You will have a chance to meet your child's teacher on September 11th when we will have "Back to School" night.

Throughout the school year, Foussat has a closed campus policy. However, we will open the campus on August 15th and 16th so that you have the opportunity to walk your student onto the playground for their first day. The campus gates will open at 7:45am and will close at 8:15am, at which time we ask that you exit through the main gate.

It is our school policy to not make any class changes until after the first three weeks of school. If you are requesting a change of teacher we ask that you first meet with your child's assigned teacher to discuss any concerns that you have. One of the many factors that is taken into consideration when administration is considering a class change is the class size in other classrooms. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about this.

• The much anticipated shade structures are up and look beautiful!
• Both the parking lot and the playground have been re-surfaced and help to make our school look even more beautiful!

Please take the time to watch the video for dropping off and picking up students.

• Use caution when driving in the school parking lot. We have over 750 students being dropped off and picked up every day.
• Be courteous and polite to other drivers. Treat other drivers with the same respect you would like to be shown towards you.
• When you are dropping off or picking up your student in the drop off area, please do no leave your car unattended. Leaving your car unattended causes cars to back up.
• Ask your student to use the pedestrian crossing areas. We ask you to do so that we can keep all of our students safe.

Our PTA organization is in need of a new president, vice-president and treasurer. If we do not have anyone that is willing to help there is a very real possibility that there will not be a PTA at Foussat this year. Our PTA is instrumental in helping to raise funds for educational field trips, help with school supplies and much more. Please consider joining the PTA - if you have any questions you may contact the school for more information.

• September 2: Labor Day - school closed
• September 11: Back to School (5:30pm - 6:30pm)
