Carver Cougars Parent Newsletter
November 4th-8th
Message from your Principal
Hello Carver Elementary Community!
Welcome to November! We had a BUSY last week in October and thank you to those that joined us at our Movie Night, Skate City, and Halloween Parade! It is always so GREAT to see our students having fun and celebrating together outside of school hours. Way to go KINDERGARTEN for having the most attendance at Skate City! They are celebrating with popcorn party on Monday. Also a SHOUT OUT to Ms. Smith's Fourth Grade Class because they had the highest attendance for the month of October! They celebrated on Thursday with a Pizza Party! What class will win for November?
Now that we are in November, the temperatures are even lower in the mornings! Please LABEL your student's belongings with their first and last name. Our lost of found is overflowing and we want our students to be warm before school and at recess. Please send your student with a jacket, hat, and gloves because we send students outside if it is above 17 degrees.
Please continue to mindful of picking up your student at dismissal at 2:50 PM and by 4:00 PM if your student is in an after school club or tutoring. Our staff are at school by 7:30 AM and it is a long day if you are late.
Ms. Kelly Dawson is on a leave of absence until January. We have three consistent substitutes-Ms. Kathleen, Ms. Dixie, and Ms. Yo. Please be patient if they ask for student names and teachers when you call. Mr. Dylan is still here and is also available.
After school 2nd-5th grade VOLLEYBALL will begin on Monday, November 4th and will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:50-4:00 PM. There are still some spots left, please sign up below!
The schedule for spring semester has also been released-please sign up below!!!
Please join us at our Culture Night this Thursday evening! We will begin with dinner in the gym and then students will receive their passport to check out the various countries throughout the building! Please join us from 5:00-7:00 PM! This is a FREE event that all of our families are invited too! Please RSVP below!

Counselor Corner!
Notes from Ms. Gio!
Hello everyone!
Have you ever wonder, how do children learn to be honest, respect, integrity and other values and social norms ? Children are not born with integrity or the behaviors we associate with it, like honesty, honor, respect, authenticity, social responsibility, and the courage to stand up for what they believe is right. It is derived through a process of cultural socialization and influences from all spheres of a child's life. Here are some ideas on what Integrity look like and sound like:
INTEGRITY - Having the courage to do what is right, even when it is difficult and no one is watching.
What does it look like?
Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching
Sticking up for another student being bullied
Not giving into peer pressure
What does it sound like?
“I will be respectful of myself and others.”
“I will not blame others for my mistakes.”
“I will be honest and trustworthy.”
Here is a book to explore about Courage : I'm Brave! by Kate McMullan

Monthly Drills:
To ensure we are prepared, we conduct monthly/quarterly drills for each of these protocols. These drills help students and staff practice the appropriate responses and become familiar with the procedures. Your support in reinforcing the importance of these drills at home is greatly appreciated.
Communication:
In the event of an actual emergency, we will communicate with families promptly. Please ensure that your contact information is up to date in our records so that you can receive timely notifications.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our school safe. If you have any questions or concerns about our safety protocols, please do not hesitate to contact us.
