Things to Know
Meet the New Superintendent!
From the KItchen: Summer Food Service
Summer Food Service will start on May 28th and go thru August 15th. There will be no service on June 19th and July 4th. Meals will be available Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will run 7:30 until 9 and Lunch will be 11-1. The meals are free for people under 18.
Thank you to the Parent's Nest!
Reminder to evening visitors to NYM School events:
Students of those attending concerts or sporting events should remain in those areas. Students should not be roaming the hallways or playing in any unsupervised areas of the building including gymnasiums. When your students are here with you they are under your supervision and should remain with you. We appreciate your help with this matter.
Notice to Elementary Parents:
If your child needs a change in their afterschool plan, a parent or guardian must call the office no later than 2:50 p.m. Changes that come in after 2:50 p.m. will not be guaranteed.
Also, we have received several calls concerning the transportation of students to other locations or on other buses. In response to these questions, we wanted to communicate the NYM Elementary Transportation Practice:
Elementary students have one pickup and one drop-off.
The NYM Busses can NOT be used for sleepovers, birthday parties, and other events. Other transportation arrangements need to be made.
Exceptions:
Blended families, with joint custody
With a note, students are allowed to get off at a different established bus stop within the same bus route. This is an exception because that student is already counted on the bus, and thus will not cause overcrowding.
Emergencies
Reasons behind this practice:
This practice is the safest way the school can ensure all students are dropped off at the correct location.
This practice allows us to limit bus overcrowding.
This practice limits the number of bus changes a day. Excessive numbers of bus changes have caused problems in the past.
This practice cuts down on confusion for bus drivers.
This practice has decreased behaviors and bullying on buses.
From the AD Office
As always please continue to check Park Region conference calendar on line for latest changes. Spring can get crazy and wild we will do our best to update changes ASAP. On another note would like to start organizing parents and coaches to get our weight room open for all athletes this summer. If you are interested in helping out this would be great. Please contact me by school phone or school email. If we all do a little a lot can get done. Thanks Mr Radniecki.
From Parent's Nest
Parent's Nest Meeting

Summer meetings TBD, watch our Facebook page for meeting times.
Last Day of School
Parent's Nest will be celebrating the last day of school with the students! Elementary students will have yard games, a DJ and a cool treat during recess. High schoolers will gather for a sweet treat in the morning. Happy Summer!
From the District Office:
This year school breakfast and lunches are free, however, there are fees for extra items. If students take a reimbursable meal (based on Federal requirements), there is no charge. If students only need milk to go with their lunch from home, there is a $0.40 charge per carton. If students purchase anything extra besides their meal, they will be charged (Powerade, seconds on food, extra drinks or ala carte items-uncrustable, breakfast bar, etc.). Students need to have money in their accounts to cover these costs.
Weekly emails will be sent to those parents that have students with a negative balance. Payments can be made online at https://www.payschoolscentral.com/ or cash or check can be sent to the District Office to be applied to student accounts.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the District Office at 218-385-4201.
Note from the Health Office
Illnesses - when your child can return to school:
- Must be fever-free (without fever-reducing medications) for 24 hours.
- If your child throws up, they must stay home until they have not had an emesis for 24 hours.
- Strep throat: needs to be on antibiotics for 12 hours before returning.
NOTICE: If your child needs any prescription medication administered at school, including eye drops, you must present a doctor's order requesting the medication be given at school. The order must be turned in before any medication will be administered. Office visit notes will not be accepted as a doctor's order.
