PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Scappoose Community,
First, I'd like to congratulate Scappoose Band and Choir for placing 3rd and 5th at the state competitions in Corvallis! Thank you to Mr. Lagrone and Ms. Moorman for their dedication and countless hours spent with such talented individuals! Way to go!
As a reminder, SHS students will be taking finals next week on 5/16-5/17. Please note that assessments will conclude at 1:10 PM on both days, with buses running at their normal times thereafter. Your cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition during this period is invaluable.

The Booster Club
The Booster Club hosted another magnificent Spring Chinook Salmon Derby, on Saturday, May 4 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds
Thank you all who helped make this event possible
Celebrate - Coach of the Year - Pam Didier
Selected as Dance-Drill Coaches Association of Oregon 4A-1A Coach of the Year
Pam has also been a former judge and served on the National Board
Pam and her staff/team earned another banner as State Runner-Up Hip Hop this year
Girls Tennis
Ended league season against powerhouses OES and Valley Catholic this week
Recorded two tough wins at OES on Tuesday
Notched three wins at home against Valley Catholic on Thursday
Kyonna Picard and Jett Ekstrom secured a win at #1 Doubles
They all go back to OES Monday to begin the District Championship Tournament
Baseball
Ten-runned Parkrose 12-2 last Friday
Took both games in the Tillamook series by a combined 13-3 Monday and Wednesday
Won the rematch of last year’s state title game 7-1 hosting Pendleton yesterday
Host Astoria tonight for Senior Night before traveling there Monday
Softball
Continued on their streak taking both from Tillamook Tuesday and Thursday, 6-1 & 13-9
Key series at Astoria today and hosting Senior Night Monday
Astoria games will determine league title and playoff positioning
Girls Golf
Finished 5th at Regionals Monday and Tuesday at Quail Valley (Banks)
They were just one spot away from qualifying for state
Boys Golf
Punched their ticket to play at the OSAA State Championship Tournament
Shot their career team low to tie Seaside as Regional Champions
Tucker Olson and Eli Barnaby finished in the top 5 overall
State Championships will be held at Emerald Valley (Creswell) on Monday and Tuesday
Girls Flag Football
Playing in the state championship tomorrow at Nike Headquarters (Beaverton)
Their first-round match-up against Central Catholic begins at 10:00 am
The semis and finals are at 1:00 pm

Requirements
CPR/AED/First Aid certified (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire date).
Must be age 18 years or older.
Ability to remain calm while working in stressful situations and have excellent problem‐solving skills.
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check through the St. Helens School District.
Must be a leader, have experience instructing and/or experience caring for groups of young people.
Must have computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Job Duties
Attend and participate in staff meetings.
Assist with public relations duties such as preparing and distributing flyers, brochures, and recreation catalogs.
Monitor the maintenance of equipment, supplies and facilities.
Help the Parks and Recreation Manager oversee activities to ensure proper use and direction.
Responsible for working with the Recreation team to provide comprehensive and diverse recreation programs. Help promote health and wellness as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.
Provide clerical support, program registration, answer phones and maintain correspondence with other divisions or agencies; may respond to public inquiries about programs and development of the recreational program.
Program Staff will plan and implement fun and enriching activities for youth in our after-school program.

Schedule
Hours will mostly be between 2 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Fridays.
Part-Time up to 30 hours per week during the academic school year.
Rate of Pay
$16.54 per hour.
