Who is Martin Luther King Junior?
by Ainsley
Martin Luther King Jr was an important African-American leader. He was born on January 15, 1929. When he was growing up black and white Americans were not treated equally. This was called segregation. After college Dr. King moved to Alabama and became a minister like his father. He married Coretta Scott and they had 4 children. Dr. King began speaking out against segregation. He lead peaceful marches for civil rights. He even gave speeches. Dr. King's famous speech was called "I Have a Dream." In his speech he said, "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of it's creed; we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal."

Homemade Dog Treats
Author: Adrianna Adarme
Equipment
- 1 large bowl
- 1 spatula or wooden spoon
- 1 bone-shaped cookie cutter or another shape you like
- 2 Baking Sheets
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment and set them aside. In a large bowl, whisk together peanut butter, honey, oil and chicken broth until smooth. Pour in the flours and oatmeal. Mix until combined.
2. Add some flour to your work surface. Turn the dough out onto the work surface and roll the dough until it's about 1/4-inch thick.
3. Using a small bone cookie cutter (or any other shape you have), stamp out the cookies.
My cookie cutter was a 5-inch bone-shaped cookie cutter. Stamp out as many cookies as your cutter allows and transfer to the cookies to the prepared baking sheet.
4. Roll up the leftover scraps and re-roll it. Cut out as many as possible. Bake the cookies for 14-16 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack. Store them in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
