Principal Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Intent to Return (ITR) window opened on Monday, Feb. 3rd, 2025, and will close on Friday, February 14th, 2025. All existing Franklin Academy families were provided with a link to the online “Intent to Return” form via email. Completing this form will secure the student’s seat for the next academic year. The form is only accessible to parents/guardians via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The forms are NOT available via the PS mobile app.
- IMPORTANT: Families who fail to complete the ITR form by the deadline will have their seat released.
- The family will then have to participate in the lottery if they still want to return to Franklin Academy for the 2025-2026.
- There will be NO EXCEPTIONS granted for families that do not complete the response form by the posted deadline.

Counseling Corner
Lead by Example: Children learn by observing the behavior of adults around them. Model kindness, empathy, and respect in your interactions with others, whether it's with family members, neighbors, or colleagues. Your actions speak louder than words, and children are keen observers of authenticity.
Encourage Empathy: Teach your children to put themselves in others' shoes. Encourage them to consider how their words and actions might impact others. Empathy is a cornerstone of healthy relationships, fostering understanding and compassion.
Promote Effective Communication: Communication lies at the heart of every relationship. Teach your children the importance of clear and respectful communication. Encourage them to express their thoughts and feelings openly while also listening attentively to others. Help them understand that effective communication involves both speaking and listening.
Resolve Conflicts Peacefully: Conflicts are inevitable in any relationship. Teach your children constructive ways to resolve conflicts without resorting to aggression or hostility. Encourage them to communicate their needs and concerns calmly, to seek compromise, and to apologize when necessary. Conflict resolution skills are invaluable in fostering harmony and understanding.
Set Boundaries: Healthy relationships are built on mutual respect and understanding of boundaries. Teach your children to set boundaries for themselves and to respect the boundaries of others. Help them understand that boundaries are not barriers to relationships but rather safeguards for personal well-being and respect for others' autonomy.
Encourage Collaboration: Collaboration fosters teamwork and strengthens bonds among individuals. Encourage your children to collaborate with their peers on projects, activities, and problem-solving tasks. Emphasize the value of working together towards common goals and celebrating collective achievements.
Practice Gratitude: Foster an attitude of gratitude within your family. Encourage your children to express appreciation for the people in their lives and the kindnesses they receive. Gratitude cultivates positive relationships by fostering goodwill and strengthening connections.
As parents, we play a pivotal role in shaping our children's ability to get along with others. By nurturing these essential interpersonal skills, we empower them to build meaningful relationships, navigate life's challenges, and contribute positively to the world around them.
Together, let's cultivate a community where kindness, empathy, and respect thrive, enriching the lives of all who inhabit it.
Please check Power School every Friday at 5PM to view your scholar's conduct score. Thank you for your continued partnership between home and school.
