Your Weekly Update from Memorial Elementary School

February 28, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Memorial Families and Caregivers:
Happy March! It’s hard to believe how quickly this school year is moving. I hope you all had a wonderful winter break and found time to reset and recharge. We are thrilled to have our scholars back on campus, fully engaged in their learning.
During classroom visits this week, it was inspiring to see students seamlessly transition back into their routines. Our third graders were deeply engaged in academic discourse, exploring claims and evidence in their writing. First graders were hard at work creating equations with unknown values by adding or subtracting tens and comparing and ordering numbers, while our second graders are gearing up for an exciting deep dive into the nonfiction genre.
We are also looking forward to our all-school assembly on March 7th, hosted by our amazing second-grade team. These assemblies are a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school-wide community, show our school spirit, and reinforce the importance of Social Emotional Learning.
In addition, next week, our dedicated educators will participate in Professional Development with Sarah Ward from Cognitive Connections, focusing on executive functioning strategies. This learning will further support our efforts in fostering students' independence and critical thinking skills in the classroom.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. Wishing you all a fantastic month ahead!
Warmly,
Troy
