Field trip to the National Apprentice Week Career Fair hosted by WRTP | Big Step

Please join WRTP | BIG STEP South Central and the Associated General Contractors of

Wisconsin in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week and Youth Apprenticeship in

Wisconsin, and jumpstart your career in the skilled trades!

Meet and network with area employers, explore the union trades through hands-on

experiences provided by the local union halls, and hear from key players of Youth

Apprenticeship!

This opportunity is ideal for 11th and 12th grade students interested in a youth apprenticeship (during high school) or registered apprenticeship (after high school) in the trades.

Youth Apprenticeship experiences provide 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to connect classroom content with workplace learning. Benefits of participating in Youth Apprenticeship include:

• Industry experience & career connections
• Paid employment that can occur during the school day
• 2 VAHS Elective Credits for 450 hours of employment

Students had the opportunity to move through the residential home building process. They heard from industry professionals in sales/design, surveying, framing, masonry, plumbing, drywall, and closing/title.

Students interested in manufacturing, electronics, electrical, computer science, engineering, theater tech, etc. went to ETC's manufacturing day. They had the opportunity to learn about what ETC does and all the different career pathways available with ETC.
