A Message from SHS Administration
Drop off/Pick up UPDATE
We continue to have parents wait to pick up students in the staff/special needs lot (see diagram below). It is imperative that pickups happen in the north loop on the east side if you are picking your students up before the end of the day.
In addition, students who have placement during the day that return to SHS should not be parking in this lot.
On the west side, the spots with dotted lines that are in the drop off loop are not for parking during school hours.
We will periodically have monitors out to help instruct those who are in the wrong area for pickup.
Thank you for your attention to this.
Drop off loops
Please follow the yellow arrows for our student drop-off loops. Red "X" and blue "*" areas are not for pick-up or drop off UNLESS you are dropping off a student with special needs.
Please contact school administration if you have any questions.

Reporting Absences
Student Absences CANNOT be reported using your phone/PowerSchool app. PowerSchool Parent Portal- click here to report absences. In the event that you are unable to report absences through PowerSchool as we had hoped, please call the HS Attendance Voicemail Box 734.401.4387 and leave a detailed message.
A few Attendance policy reminders:
Students are allowed up to 7 absences per class, per trimester. Excused "A" and Unexcused "U" Absences count toward this total. Excessive Absenteeism shall be referred to Probation/Case Worker Diversion, Consent & Chronic Absenteeism Prevention, Education & Permanency Team through Washtenaw County.
An absence occurs when a student arrives 15 minutes after the tardy bell or has missed more than 15 minutes of class.
Students have the same number of days absent to make up classwork as long as the absence is excused by a parent/guardian.
A student who is absent without a pass, parent notification, or prior arranged school business is considered unexcused (coded as “U” in PowerSchool).
A student athlete is expected to attend classes at all times. If a student athlete is not in class for three (3) full periods, then the student will NOT be allowed to practice or compete on that day. Note: Exceptions to this rule may be approved by submitting a written request to the Athletic Director prior to the day missed.
Students are responsible for communicating with their teachers to coordinate missing work. If able, students should communicate before or during their absence.
