24-25 Class Placement
We are in the process of class placement for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a thorough, thoughtful process that considers the whole child’s academic, social and behavioral needs. The entire Bresnahan staff participates in this process to ensure that students are mindfully placed to have a successful school experience. With the large number of students in the building, we cannot take placement requests. Thank you for understanding and trusting the process.
Clipper Courses
Our Clipper Courses will be ending the week of May 28th! If your child takes a Clipper Course on Mondays, their last course will be Monday, May 20th. Please adjust School Dismissal Manager with the appropriate dismissal routine for your child!
NEF School Pollinator Garden at FTB
Volunteers needed on Saturday, May 25th 8-12 (rain or shine) for our NEF School Pollinator Garden.
The NEF (Newburyport Education Foundation) has generously funded the materials for the beds/soil and the purchase of pollinator plants for all classes to plant in their grade level bed. We need you to help build/fill the bed for your child’s grade.
Please note: We do need a few items (see listing).
Supplies to borrow for the morning per team:
1 wheelbarrow (5 total)
2 cordless drill/screwdrivers (10 total)
2 shovels (10 total)
Questions? Contact ssimon@newburyport.k12.ma.us (Miss Sue)
CORI Process
All volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI on file with the Newburyport Elementary Schools.
Bring the completed CORI form along with your driver's license to the Administrative Assistant at our school office.
Please note CORI's are only valid for three years; after that you must reapply.
Fingerprinting
In keeping with Newburyport's continued focus on safety, volunteers/parents are required to be fingerprinted in two instances:
If you are going on a day or overnight field trip and will have direct and unmonitored contact with children;
If you are a lunchroom volunteer and will be bringing children out to the playground. Parents who volunteer in the classroom DO NOT need to be fingerprinted, if there will always be another adult present.
Massachusetts has contracted with MorphoTrust for fingerprinting. To book an appointment, visit the Massachusetts IdentoGO Website.
Please be aware there is a $35 fee for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting does not expire.

Newburyport Youth Services
We are still taking reservations and duck donations for Saturday, May 18th at the Nock/Molin parking lot on Low St.
The Friends of NYS (new name coming) are excited to celebrate spring with a family Drive-In movie and a Pluck- a - Duck Fundraiser!
Just like our Plum Island Drive In, the movie will be streamed over FM radio and right into your car. We're watching MIGRATION! The lot will open at 7pm with our Pluck-a-Duck raffle. Sponsor a duck or a bunch of ducks for a chance to win prizes! All the ducks will be floating in our lucky pond! We will have some activities and games while we went for the sun to set. The movie should start around 8:15pm just after sunset. $30 suggested donation per vehicle, you can order a pizza for your car when you buy your ticket and then sponsor some lucky duckies! All proceeds support Newburyport Rec and Youth Services programming and scholarships.
Can't make it? You can still purchase ducks or make a donation. Go to "Buy Tickets" and scroll down to donations, or below to "Add Ons". You can select the number of ducks you want!
Walk and Roll Wednesday's
Please join us for Walk and Roll on Wednesday's! Let's get out of our cars and meet up as neighbors and friends to walk, bike, or roll to school. Walking and rolling is a healthy way to start the day, it's beneficial for the environment, promotes independence and it's FUN! Join a neighborhood meet-up spot (see attached maps for locations), or make your own!
