Hello Dragon Nation!
I'm Jeremy Glenn, your new Superintendent of Schools here at Carroll ISD. You can expect a monthly newsletter from me moving forward that will include some highlights and district reminders. I look forward to meeting new families each week as I visit our campuses and attend Dragon events.
The new school year is off to a great start! If there is one thing I’ve learned in my time as an educator, it’s that our kids grow up fast. Whether you’re dropping your kindergartener off at elementary school or rushing to get a hug from your teenager before they bolt out the door in their senior year, take time to enjoy the little things. Remember, you will never have this time with your children again. Tomorrow they’ll be a little older than they are today. Today is a gift. Take time to notice their faces, their mannerisms, their little hands and feet. Pay attention and relish the charms of the present. Enjoy today — it will be over before you know it.

Shout-out to the Carroll BBQ team, which is being featured now on a Magnolia Network docuseries that follows Texas high school students as they compete in barbecue competitions and navigate their senior year. The competitions are run by the non-profit HS BBQ Inc. and offer scholarships to students for culinary school.
I am excited about the culinary course offerings held at the Senior High as well and am looking forward to sampling some Dragon recipes myself.
