April 2025

Brief Message From the Principal
Dear Pirate Families,
As we approach the final months of the school year, we want to inform you about the busy testing schedule ahead and encourage our students to give their best effort during this important time.
ACT WorkKeys Test
The first major test on the horizon is the ACT WorkKeys Test, which will be administered to all juniors on April 1st and 2nd. This vital assessment helps prepare students for future success in the workplace. Unlike other tests that measure general academic competencies, the WorkKeys Assessments are specifically designed to evaluate both hard and soft skills that are relevant across various industries and occupations.
The WorkKeys test focuses on practical skills needed in the workplace, such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. It challenges students with real-world scenarios, and its results can help them understand their readiness for careers after high school or assist them in gaining qualifications that many employers seek.
Important Reminder:
All juniors will need to bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on these testing days. Please ensure your student is prepared and has all necessary materials.
End of Course (EOC) Tests
In addition to the WorkKeys test, students will take the End of Course (EOC) tests during the first week of May. These tests are essential in assessing students' mastery of the content covered in their courses and are crucial for graduation. We encourage students to stay focused and continue working hard as we approach this testing period.
Encouraging Student Success
We understand that testing can be stressful, but we want to remind students of the value of these assessments in their educational journey and future success. Encourage your student to take these tests seriously, stay organized, and get plenty of rest the night before. They should approach each test with confidence, knowing that their hard work throughout the year will pay off.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students succeed. We are confident that, with the right preparation and mindset, all students will do their best and excel during this busy testing season.
Sincerely,
Jered Brown
