STEM-o-Ween at LMHS is this week! Come engage in some fall fun with STEM activities run by our amazing students all over the LMHS campus. There will also be a Haunted House in the old Mills Building, a Blood Drive in the media center, and a joint band and chorus concert in the auditorium following the festivities. There's something for everyone, no matter the age. We hope to see you there!
CLUBS: This week students will have the opportunity to sign up for clubs during breakfast and lunch starting Tuesday, October 22. There are limited slots for some clubs so teachers will review the list and confirm membership by the beginning of next week.
School Improvement Team Parent Representatives Needed: Would you like to be an active member of the LMHS School Improvement Team? We are looking for parents that are interested in learning more about the work taking place at LMHS to improve our school and gain insight from our families as well! We meet twice per month on the second and fourth Monday of each month after school (3:00-4:00). Email Mrs. Treadway if you would like to join at tonyatreadway@fcschools.net.
Dress for Success: Thank you to all the participants in the Dress for Success. Jamya Lewis and Jawawn Bullock are the two stylist winners. The next Dress for Success Day is November 20th.
Raffle Baskets: The Band Boosters are raffling off 5 baskets at the Stem-o-ween concert at 7pm next Wednesday. A Cozy Basket, Spa Basket, Kitchen Basket, Bathroom Basket, and a Movie Basket. 1 ticket for $2 or 3 tickets for $5 purchased at the concert. Please bring some extra cash and support the band program!

Blood Drive: Who can you help?
This is just a friendly reminder about our blood drive this week. The LMHS SGA and STEM students have been trying to register donors for our STEM-o-ween blood drive. The American Red Cross will provide a participating student with a $500 scholarship if the school reaches its goal of 39 units donated. Due to the critical need for blood in Western NC, the American Red Cross of Eastern NC is depending on our community for whatever help we can offer. Please consider donating if you are able.
Details: Wednesday, October 23rd from 2-7pm in the Media Center
Incentives: Helping students earn a scholarship, $10 gift card, STEM-o-ween t-shirt, and automatic entry to win 1 of 3 $5,000 gift cards

Warrior Spotlight!
Mr. Dixon
This week we would like to shine the Warrior Spotlight on Mr. Dixon. He has worked hard to help his team. They appreciate all of the ideas he has shared and enjoy collaborating with him. Mr. Dixon will be taking the lead for our National Honor Society and is always looking for ways to make learning fun and challenging. Thank you Mr. Dixon!
Mrs. Radford
When teachers are out we depend on others to help fill that role and it is no easy task! We are grateful for the substitute teachers that are always dependable and willing to help when needed. Mrs. Radford has been filling a vital role in our math department this semester and we can't say enough about how patient and kind she is with our students. She advocates for them and is an important part of our school. Thank you Mrs. Radford!
