Another phase of our campus re-modernization project is now complete!

Please review the map above with our NEW parking lot and drop-off/pick-up loop, which opened on Monday, November 18th.

Please notice that, starting tomorrow, the former entrance we've been using for the parking loop will be the entrance for busses only. And the former exit to the loop will now have areas for cars to enter and exit.

The temporary parking lot we've been using will no longer be open. We've turned it back over to construction so that they can begin work on our final blacktop area for students.

The bike rack will still be accessible to students from the entrance they have been using since the start of the school year.

The Open Enrollment Lottery is an annual process that allows families who live within the boundaries of San Juan Unified School District an opportunity to request a school of their choice, provided there is space available at the requested school and families are willing to provide transportation.

Available space is determined by the school's defined physical and program capacity after enrolled resident students are placed.

The Open Enrollment Lottery application is available starting on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 8:00 A.M. through January 24, 2025, at 5:00 P.M.

Open Enrollment results will be emailed to families by February 3rd, 2025.

***Because Open Enrollment is a computer-generated lottery and not approved on a first-come, first-served basis; you can submit your application at any time during the Open Enrollment period.***

The 7th grade level field to California Academy of Sciences is FREE to all students. The trip will take place on Wednesday, December 4th! Students will travel via charter buses. Sack lunches will be provided, but students are free to bring money to purchase lunch at the cafe. Buses will leave promptly at 8:00 A.M., so students must arrive to school by 7:40 A.M.

Permission slips are due by November 20th! Permission slips have been handed out but can also be picked up at the front office.

The 6th grade field trip to the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity will be on February 12, 2025!

We are looking for chaperones! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out an interest form and sign up to be fingerprinted for FREE!

Elica's Mobile Health Centers are back and ready to provide mobile health clinic support to San Juan Unified students! Please note that services are NOT limited to the students of the schools the mobile clinic is stationed. It is open to ALL students! This is open to all children and youth, 0 to 18 years old. Services are provided on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis.

Services include:

• Vaccinations (childhood vaccines, Covid-19, and flu)
• School Entry Exams
• Sports Physicals
• Sick Visits

What to bring:

• Photo ID of parent/legal guardian
• Patient's insurance card, if insured
• Immunization records or list of missing immunizations from school site
• Social Security Number, if applicable
• Household Income Information, if applicable

Things to consider:

• patients must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
• Not able to treat urgent cases
• Accept Medi-cal, Anthem, Molina, Health Net, and private insurance
• Uninsured individuals will still be seen by filling out a "temporary Medi-cal" application with a sliding fee scale
• Childhood vaccines are provided at no cost

The Arcade 6th/7th grade team is FULL. The 8th-grade team has 8 spots available!

• Who: 6th, 7th and 8th grade Middle School Boys.

• When: January 16th, 2025 - March 15th , 2025. **We do not practice or play over SJUSD holidays**

• Where: Practices are held at the school you attend. Games are on Saturdays, at Arden Middle School or El Camino HS.

• Cost: $125 per participant. Fees include jerseys, coaches, gym time, referees, and scorekeepers.

• Practices: *Practice times may vary depending on gym space and coach availability.

• Games: Generally, 6/7/8 games will be held on Saturdays between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. Coaches will hand out information on the location, dates, and times of these games after the first practice.

• Registration: Registration opens September 2, 2024 on a first-come, first-served basis and closes December 29th, 2024, or until teams are full.

The school gates open at 7:30 A.M. each morning. Once the school gates open, students enter into the MP room. In the MP room, students may get breakfast. Breakfast service begins at 7:30 A.M. daily. Students can eat in the MP room and then can move about the rest of campus, starting at 7:45 A.M.

ONLY students are allowed through the school gates. If a parent or guardian needs to speak with a school staff member, that person must enter through the Front Office entrance.

All students receive FREE breakfast and lunch everyday! Check out the menus for this month below.

All students in transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade can ride Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) for free through the RydeFreeRT program. With RydeFreeRT, students can ride the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT buses, light rail and SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service for FREE!

RydeFreeRT is available all day, any day of the week, all year during regular SacRT service hours.

To ride free, students need to show a valid RydeFreeRT card. Youth who are experiencing homelessness or taking part in foster programs are also allowed to participate in the program, regardless of current residence or school address.

RydeFreeRT cards are available at school locations, including at Arcade, or at the SacRT Customer Service Center at 1225 R Street (adjacent to the 13th Street light rail station) and Sacramento Public Libraries.
