Logan was nominated by his Spanish teacher, Ms. Sutto, for exhibiting kindness, enthusiasm, humor and several other P2 traits. Ms. Sutto said, "Logan greets everyone he meets with a smile and acknowledges them by name. He positively contributes to conversations. At the end of class he says thanks and wishes me a good day!" For his positivity and kindness, Logan was rewarded with an official P2 shirt, a free fry, and a free mini sub from our partners at Rally's and Jersey Mike's. Congratulations Logan and thank you for helping to make AGS a positive place to learn!

Congratulations to Mrs. Smith, social worker, on being named AGS Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Smith's passion for helping others and advocating for students does not go unnoticed. Her ability to build positive relationships with staff and students is one of her many attributes. She does her job with enthusiasm and a smile! Congratulations and thank you for helping to create a positive culture for our students and staff. Mrs. Smith will enjoy the special parking spot for the next month!

Congratulations to 7th grader Luke Battaglia for winning the Local Patriot's Pen Essay Contest sponsored by the VFW. Luke's first place finish qualified his essay to move on to the VFW District Level. He was notified, this week, that his essay earned a 3rd place finish among the 14 districts. Today, at school, members of our Local VFW presented Luke with a certificate and a check for $100. AGS is very proud of Luke's accomplishment. A special thank you to his ELA teacher, Mrs. Loria, for entering the essays into the contest.

Luke said he is going to take his mom and dad out to dinner :)

Several members of the 8th grade basketball team approached Mr. Uhrik, FAPS AD, to propose the idea of getting new basketball uniforms for the 7th and 8th grade teams. The boys helped to garner financial support from community businesses/organizations. This is the first time in 20 + years they will be sporting new uniforms. The players are excited to wear them for their first game on Monday and are very appreciative of our sponsors. Thanks to The LaFontaine Automotive Group, Fenton Printing, and Fenton City Fire & Rescue for supporting AGS Athletics!

Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from February 6-10 2023 at AGS Library.

This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy. You can still pay by cash, credit/debit card, or use eWallet.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

The AGS PTO is organizing another VG's Receipt SRT Contest. Students can turn in VG's receipts to their SRT teacher from Jan. 23 to Feb. 3. The winning SRTs will earn a class prize!

Kindness Counts! In addition to the weekly Positivity Project the students already participate in, the Leadership Council will be initiating a "Kindness Counts" campaign. More to come.
